The Olive Hill Guesthouse opened the doors for guests on September 12, 2019. Our guests are always our first priorities, we like to make them feel at home and we offer many tips regarding places to go and see, restaurants, secluded beaches. If you do not know the area come to the reception where we have plenty information. We have 4 bungalows with patio, these can sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. The prices are based on adults. We have 3 guestrooms; 1 with a private terrace, 2 with seats on the balcony. These rooms can sleep 2 adults, or 1 adult and 1 child William and Monique have visited many places in the area and can advise you regarding city trips, historic places, beaches, restaurants and hiking and biking in the nature based on our own experiences. For us, the most important thing is to welcome and treat our guests as we would like to be treated ourselves. We have traveled a great deal in our lives, and we have experience in how to make our guests enjoy their stay and enjoy all the beauty and delights that Central Portugal has to offer. Giving our guests the "feeling of a home", with great hospitality in a relaxed environment is our goal. The Olive Hill Guesthouse is central located with many things to do within 50 kilometers driving. This makes our Guesthouse a good base to discover Central Portugal. The natural stone sun-terrace with swimming-pool, pergolas, sunbeds, grouped tables and sunken barbecue pit offers a great view over the surrounding green valleys and the city and monastery of Batalha. The breath taking sunsets and the view of Batalha and the green valleys with many birds, make it all very easy to relax. The beaches of Nazare, Pedro Moel and Valey the paredes are within 30 minutes drive, the children friendly beach of Foz de Arelho is a 45 minutes drive, bu it is worthwhile. There are plenty opportunities for surfing and in the natural park Serra de aire e cadeeiros there are many hiking trails as well as mountain-biking and horse-back riding. The decoration of the rooms, the quality of the beds, the sleeping sofa´s and the peacefulness will make your stay comfortable. The service we provide and the fact that we do our best to make everyone feel at home and much appreciated is also mentioned often in the reviews. The colorful luxurious bungalows with private patio are beautiful located with a great view and the guestrooms are complete with matching decorations. Many guests like the orange/lemon sensed amenities. The breakfast that is prepared fresh and comes every morning with one of our specialty dishes. Banana pan-cakes, home made jams and muffins, different ways of dishes with eggs, the courgette cake and the apple-cake are favorites with most of our guests. If you want to learn more about Portuguese wines and Port-wines, ask William for advise or try a tasting. The desire that we both cherished brought us to Batalha in Central Portugal, because of its central location between a treasure of historical sites and close to the “Silver Coast” and the Serra de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park. The famous world heritage monastery is a must see. After that our place is the perfect starting point to visit the miracle of Fatima, the queen city of Óbidos, the beautiful monastery of Alcobaça, the "Convento de Cristo" in Tomar and many other sights of interest. For beach lovers there are many different beaches within 30-40 km.; the famous Nazaré with the fortress and the beautiful church on the "Sitio" and the beautiful beaches with sometimes waves of 25 - 30 meters high and the quiet coastal villages "Valé de Paredes and Pedro de Moel with their own charm. The city of Leiria with the beautiful old town and the "Castello" and many fine restaurants and authentic shopping opportunities is also very nice for a day out.
