The train from Harry Potter passes right under the window. The kitchen is well equipped, there are plenty of burners, pots, plates and cutlery. Plus a coffee brewer. Behind the railroad crossing (2 minutes from the house) is a beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. I would definitely recommend.

Hartfield House is a calm oasis for those travelling around the west coast of Scotland or doing the NC500. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are outstanding. Well worth the money!

On Scotland’s far west coast, The Mission Bunkhouse in Mallaig offers simple hostel accommodation right opposite the train station and seconds from the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal. Very good place, few steps from ferry. Also the supermarket is in front of the accomodation. Nice terrace for lunch/dinner.

Situated at the foot of Ben Nevis, the long-established Glen Nevis Youth Hostel is just 3 miles from the large town of Fort William. Great hostel with nice decor. Close to Fort William and a great starting point for hiking Ben Nevis. Staff was helpful, kitchen well equiped. Parking was arranged behind the hostel. Size was a good size with mountain views and plenty of sockets to fill your devices. Bathroom simple, yet everything we needed. Shower was one of the best we had in Scotland!

Just 10 minutes’ walk from Inverness Rail Station, Inverness Youth Hostel offers free private parking and bicycle storage. Eastgate shopping centre is a 10-minute walk from this hostel. The staff were great and very helpful. Has all that you need and very well organized. Beds are what you can expect. Very clean and not very noisy at all.
