Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location. More than adequate facilities for a backpackers, was clean comfortable, we had our own ensuite, there were also communal rooms for tv, to play games, tea and coffee making facilities free. Great value for money, no need to spend extra.

Great location - super close to the supermarket. Kitchen was massive, and kept really clean. Lots of cooking space, as well as eating space. I was in a 3 person bedroom - not bunk beds which was nice. Good wifi, nice staff. It was a nice place to stay for a few days.

A really great hostel set close to the lake and local amenities. The rooms are decent size and the en-suites are super useful. The beds are comfy, there’s two pillows, and overall it’s a cosy vibe. The kitchen and outdoor areas are really good for meeting people too.

Fairly new facilities and really well organized. Loved the ensuite bathroom. Beds were comfy and had curtains, light, power. It's a small hostel and I really appreciated this. Nice common rooms and kitchen, computer room and lounge, outdoors area. And great location in town. Staff was friendly and excellent. Would have liked to stay longer and would definitely come back.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Immaculately clean. New, modern, comfy bed and mattress. Lots of space in my dormitory. The kitchen and living space facilities were huge, airy, well equipped. Nice patio area. Great value for money; I stayed in the Wanaka YHA the night before for similar price and the Brownston was vastly superior.

It's in a great location with a nice bar and restaurant. There's a common living room area and kitchen. The room has a sink and heater. I booked a hostel room, which was significantly cheaper than a hotel room. It was ok for the price, but there are things that could have been better.

Great location, lovely staff that do what they can to keep their guests happy. Wifi good. Very clean which makes up for the general run-down state of the lodge/hostel building (as opposed to the lovely main building). Showers surprisingly good with hot water. Cheapest private room of Wanaka that day so yes you get what you pay for.
