This youth hostel in Ullapool is perfect, excellent quality for price! The manager is attentive and very kind, the common areas and dormitories are very clean. We were able to do laundry on site and have a good time in the large living room. We also appreciated the "free food" in the kitchen left by other travellers.

One of the best hostels I've ever, every stayed in. Location is great, with fantastic views out of the street-facing rooms. It was really, really clean. Kitchen big and well stocked. And staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Highly recommend!

We took a 6 bed room for the whole family - what a great place! helpful and kind staff that helped with everything, extra clean for a youth hostel, everything you can possibly need for your stay in the common areas and much more - great kitchen, laundry room and everything is super clean and to top it all up - great view from the window of the loch.

We had a 4-bunk bedroom for the family. It was a good price and we had an ensuite shower/toilet, which a lot of hostels don't seem to have. Located on the main road we did manage to find a parking space for the night near but there were parking restrictions and longer stays would need to sort out alternative parking.

Great location for us as a one night stop over waiting for the ferry. A short drive into town. Comfortable beds and lounge / dining area. Parking nice and easy. Very quiet, clean and safe feeling estate. Would stay again as convenient and comfy.

The reviews say this is a slightly run down, but otherwise very reasonable two star hotel. And that's exactly what it is. The room was functional, the bed was OK and I had a reasonable nights sleep. If I had planned my trip more in advance I wouldn't have stayed here in the first place and probably will not return. But it's cheap and big enough to always have vacancies...It's perfect for studenty backpacker types exploring the bleak wildernesses of Ross and Sutherland....anyone on a limited budget, to be sure.

Last minute booking saved us from wild camping in shocking weather, great value for money. Man at the front desk was friendly, welcoming and helpful when asking for recommendations. Beds comfortable and entire room and facilities were clean. Bunk bed rooms perfect for either a group of friends like us or a family. Great location on the water and near pubs, chippys, cafes etc. Part of Hostelling Scotland charity and a very environmentally conscious/sustainable facility.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The building is in need of a little attention but it was clean and the breakfast was very good. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom warm. Safety was a priority in terms of Covid and we did not feel compromised. I read with interest some other reviews about it being expensive and was bemused as a youth hostel without breakfast can cost almost as much.
