This guesthouse was wonderful, we ended up extending because we liked it so much. There is a kitchen available for you to prepare food (no hotplate though for cooking, just kettle and microwave). The room was beautiful, very big and very comfortable. The bathroom was also big, one of the best bathrooms we've encountered so far. Really beautiful guesthouse!

The host is very friendly. The guesthouse is a bit far from the old town, but it is easy to get a taxi with Grab and it costs only about 11 MYR to get to the old town. Even after adding taxi fares, the total cost is still lower than that for most decent hotels in the city. Most importantly, it is located in a quiet neighbourhood.

Set in a restored 1930's shop house, Sojourn Beds & Café is an affordable and cosy accommodation situated in Taiping. Lin, the person working, is incredible, very funny and has many recommendations about to see and eat. The place is located in the center of Taiping, close to the train station. They have umbrellas in case your forget yours.
