Lovely setting in a beautiful homestay environment. It was very peaceful sitting in their beautiful garden, and the orchestra of frogs in the evening was a delight. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Dimu and his wife were so genuine and lovely, and the curries were delicious. Dimu organised a safari tour with Sumudu as our guide. Sumudu's knowledge and respect for the animals was very much appreciated. We saw many wild elephants, Sambur deer (very rare), deer, wild boar, golden jackals, Buffalo, crocodiles, peacocks, monitor lizards, mongoose and many beautiful birds. One of the highlights of our trip! Thanks for an amazing stay, Dimu!

The safari with Suresh was excellent and good value for a four hour trip. Janith was the perfect host, communicative without being pushy and very attentive to our needs. Breakfast was also very delicious.

One of the best acommodations on my trip to Sri Lanka. The location itself is great - not far away from the village center, but still in nice, quiet local road where you can meet lots of friendly local people. The garden in Mango tree house is very beautiful and very well kept! The cottages are super clean, very spacious and beautiful. Loved the waterfall shower in bathroom! The owner family is very friendly and welcoming. You can feel very relaxed there as they help in everything needed. I got my rides organized by the owners which saved my time a lot. Also their dinner was great, one of the best local meals I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Even if they dont have pool, there is one at really near by hotel that the owner directed me to enjoy refreshing swim on a hot day. You only pay small fee to enter the pool. I would definitely stay here again!

Hasthi Safari Cottage ligger i Udawalawe, 16 km fra Udawalawe Nationalpark, og tilbyder indkvartering med spabad, spa-faciliteter og wellness-pakker. Nice cottage house on a quiet street. The host was very nice, we bought a safari tour through him and a taxi to our next location. Also, we ate at his restaurant and it was good authentic food. Our room had AC and bathtub + outdoor shower.

Elephant Next-Door i Udawalawe ligger under 8 km fra Udawalawe Nationalpark og byder på en række faciliteter, herunder en have. Elephant next door is a true recommendation. Small gem right next to Udalawe Nationalpark. Very cute design, you see Janaka the owner put a lot of heart and soul into this place. He is nothing but friendly and helpful. He organizes everything you need and in his little own restaurant he is offering amazing local food for his guests. Go for early morning safari with Leel and you will be the first to enter the park, see Elephants and enjoy the morning in nature when the park awakes around you. The room has AC and ceiling fan, hot shower water, moskito net (which we actually didn’t need) and is clean. Cute front room serves as a kind of living room and outside patio with a nice place to sit, free games and yoga mats! Elephant Transit home and Restaurants in walking distance. Would always go there again when staying in Sri Lanka! Price-value is top! 10 out of 10.

Everything. Definitely we are suggesting to use safari offered by host and have dinner there. One of the best what we had in Sri Lanka.

I really enjoyed the room. It was comfortable and very clean. I also had my breakfast and dinner there. Highly recommend that, as the food was super diverse and delicious. Max was really helpful and accommodating. I also did the Safari with him. Can recommend that as well. Very fair price and a good tour.

We had a great stay at Buddika Safari & Resort. We enjoyed the spacious and clean room (incl AC) and bathroom (incl plenty hot water). The host is super friendly and the food delicious. The location is very close to the national park which is a plus for the safari tour which was organized by the host as well. We arrived at the property at 1 PM and enjoyed lunch 30 minutes later. We discussed the safari tour options with the host during lunch and decided to go that afternoon due to the weather expectations. At 2:30 PM we were in a jeep on our way to the park with a knowledgeable driver! The next day the host brought us to the Elephant Transit Home. Overall a great experience from beginning to the end of our two (2) day stay.

The room was very comfortable and we had a good rest. Also the breakfast (and dinner) were absolutely amazing! very kind hosts and would definitely recommend staying here. Perfect for visiting Udawalawe.
