I was very impressed by the hotel itself. It’s over 350 years old and they have kept the old fashioned Bernese style. It’s filled with antiques and the staff dress in traditional costume. People could speak both German and English, as foreigners, we felt completely welcome. Also, last minute we lost our babysitter and had to bring our daughter with us. They brought a comfy bed and had it ready while we ate dinner. The food is exceptional and them have a wide menu to enjoy dinner. Try the mushroom fondue, it was great! Breakfast was very prettily served and delicious.

we had an excellent stay at the Hotel des Alpes for 5 nights in the hotel’s dormitory. The dormitory option was perfect for a few days of hiking in the region around. The shared facilities were cleaned everyday. The breakfast is perfect for a dau of hiking. Interactions with other people at the dorm were great, due to the fact that most of them are also here to hike and are happy to share their local experience. The owners were trully welcoming and helpful. I also recommend the hotel’s restaurant !

Sonja was a great, helpful host. Spacious room with balcony and sink. Plus much transportation in the Simmental Valley is included…trains & gondolas! The breakfast is good & generous.
