Elda and Leonel's accommodation is truly magnificent. São Vicente and the north coast of the island are spectacular, this is the perfect location to take in all of the area has to offer. Leonel is a local, so is an expert on the area (great recommendations for food, drinks, hiking trails, and swimming spots). I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Elda, but the design features of the property (for which I believe she is responsible for) are excellently unique. It's a comfortable space to spend downtime, with stunning views from the balcony and a pristine pool to lounge by. The property is perfectly located within a two minute walk of São Vicente village, and a further five minutes to the seafront (which hosts more options for bars, cafes, and restaurants). Leonel provided both a transportation service to and from Funchal, as well as a bicycle rental service, both at a very reasonable cost. These additional services helped make my stay extra special and hassle-free respectively. I was also given a generous sample of Leonel's homemade Madeira wine, which was succulent and sweet as well as fresh eggs from the chickens they keep on site. Elda and Leonel's two cats also wander around the property. They are friendly, gentle, and affectionate; good company all in all. I endured both calm sunny days and stormy downpours while in São Vicente. Regardless of the conditions, I always felt that I was in the perfect place to enjoy my holiday.

Set in Ponta do Pargo, in the west side of Madeira Islands Region, 35 km from Funchal, Casas da Levada boasts an outdoor pool and views of the sea. Free private parking is available on site. Best choice to stay on Madeira. Amazing breakfasts, stylish place. Helpful stuff. Loved our stay!

Quinta das Hortensias is a traditional Madeira home located in Arco de São Jorge, on the north Coast of Madeira Island. The unit features views over the Atlantic Ocean and the lush Laurissilva Forest.... On the North side of Madeira, I sought out this lodging because I believed it would be quiet and beautiful, which it certainly was. In addition, the host Viriato was incredibly kind and responsive, with personalized recommendations and a connection to the lived life of the island. The cottages are nicely renovated old homes, both charming and comfortable which is my ideal in a stay away from home. The gardens and outside areas surrounding the cottage are expertly crafted places for taking in the sights and sounds of the ocean. There are several roads and paths where you can walk directly to the beachfront, and parking is easy if you brave the mountainous roads of Madeira. I Highly recommended!

Offering an idyllic setting in an Agroturism property, Casas de Pedra is located in Camacha, a Madeiran village located 12 km from Funchal city centre. It offers free WiFi access. It’s a paradise! I would say that it’s one of the best experiences during our traveling. It’s beautiful, calm, clean and so cozy. We stoked the fireplace everyday and enjoyed our vacation. Also, I want to highlight the high level of service! They proposed a check in any time because house was already free, they cleaned room everyday (!) when we were outside. Breakfast is really good!

Offering a natural lagoon, this 1.4-hectares property is situated on the plateau of Santo da Serra, in Madeira Island. The pet-friendly Quinta do Pântano, Agro Turismo offers free Wi-Fi. The location was as depicted. Serene and verdant mountain countryside. A quiet and tranquil venue. Very relaxing. Cottages/studios were very comfortable and cozy. Venue was within walking distance from locally owned restaurants, cafes, and small market. Very quaint. Locals were very friendly & receptive. The Sunday farmers' market is a must see and do

Quinta Terezinha is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a base to discover the island. The host Laura was so friendly and was really useful in providing information for the shops, restaurants and places to visit. The accommodation itself was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The farmhouse was lovely with comfy beds, a great shower and really clean. We didn't really make the most of the outdoor areas, but there are hammocks, a barbeque and sun loungers all with amazing views. As others have mentioned, you will likely become the owner of a couple of cats for your stay which we loved. On arrival, Laura had prepared a welcome hamper with some local exotic fruits, ground coffee and a bottle of Madeira Wine which was a lovely touch. If you run out or want any more fresh produce from the farm then the instructions are to just help yourself. What an amazing stay - just wish we could have stayed longer.

Moinho do Comandante is located in São Roque, in Madeira. The unit is in a naturally green property, which features a spring of drinkable water. Homes at the Comandante’s come with a seating area. Unusual. Different. More of a home than a hotel
