What a beautiful place!!! We absolutely loved Quinta da Salada. Rui the owner was absolutely fantastic host. I have made an error with my initial booking that wasn't really allowed to be changed yet they very kindly agreed to change and I greatly appreciate it. Rui made a very informative and very funny introduction to property. We had a large room and despite reading some reviews about bathroom issue we didnt find it a problem. Room as well as the whole property are beautifully and very tastefully decorated with great attention to details. Room was very comfortable and spacious. There were so many orange trees full of oranges and beautiful orange blossom smell was everywhere. Friendly donkeys that our daughter could hug were a bonus too. We loved tranquility and how non commercial was the hotel. Breakdast was absolutely lovely and so were the snacks and meals that we could order ( simple but lovely0. We were recommended a lovely driver who took us to the nice wine dinner by Rui too. The whole experience was brilliant and should we visit Duoro again we would stay again at Quinta da Salada!

This was a beautiful property. With an amazing pool and view of the valley. The accommodations were perfect with a clean apartment, AC if needed however, the cool breeze at night was enough for our family.  I cannot say enough great things about the host and his son. They were in contact with me even before my arrival. They greeted us with a glass of their homemade port wine and were dedicated to making our stay as pleasant as can be. They gave us amazing dinner reservations in town. Lamego is a beautiful village with an old history yet many great dining options and is only 10 mins outside of the more tourist areas. If you are even looking at this location, please look no further and book your stay you will not regret it. The pool is big and extremely clean and well-maintained- you will feel like you are at a high end resort -there’s plenty of seating and it is not busy or over packed. It is very private and at night you can enjoy a glass of wine under the star studded sky. we will definitely be back as this was one of the best stays in Portugal during our two week visit!

We liked everything. The room was very spacious and everything is beautifully decorated. The "garden" part of the property is beautiful and is very well kept. Too bad we didn't get to use the pool because of the unstable weather. The surroundings are breathtaking.

Marque was very nice and offered to park the car inside the house for us when he saw us struggle to do a reverse parking. Helping with luggage, offering beautiful port wine from his personal cellar, showing us around his vineyard, fresh persimmon, tomatoes, bread and jam are icing on cake.

It was quiet, relaxing, and a short walk to the City center. The hosts were kind and helpful and gracious. There was fresh breakfast eaten outside each morning with a view of the beautiful Douro Valley. A lovely stay with the best hosts in a private cottage on a farm. One of the best vacations I've ever taken.

Easily reached, some 2 km from the exit (Lamego) of the highway A24. Good location to visit the Douro valley (Lamego, Regua, Pinhao) where you can visit many vineyards and take a boat on the Douro. Porto is about an hour and a half's ride away by car. The house is clean and rather large with two floors. The lower floor has a kitchen with all necessary utensils, four electric cooking plates and an oven. There's a large table there and also a coach and tv. In front there's a terrace with a smaller table again where you can have breakfast under the roof of grape vines growing through the pergola. The house is rather high up the hills of Britiande and you have a splendid view on the surrounding area. Just in front of the terrace there's an orchard and vegetables garden. You may walk through this orchard, but there's no grass, so with kids they can't easily play outside just in front of the house. Upstairs there is a small bathroom with a small bath, but clean and comfortably. Also two bedrooms, one master bedroom for the parents and then a slightly smaller one with two separate beds for the kids. Both bedrooms are large enough with enough cupboards. Then there's also a room with a television and coach again, which is very nice in the evening. Next to that room you can go outside on the first floor terrace. In the morning the sun is shining right there so that room during the day is probably too hot, but you can sit downstairs where it is always colder. The house is clean and all basic necessary items are available, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The swimming pool is, as you may have read in other reviews, not next to the house, but actually some 100 metres away, next to the house of the owner's sister. It's available exclusively for the vacation house, so you're all alone there and, given that it is slightly uphill from the house, has an even better view.

The property is amazing. It has a lush garden with lots of sitting area. You can also walk around the property through the vineyard. The host, Maria, was so helpful throughout our stay. She helped book our wine tastings and our dinner reservations. All of which were superb! We can’t wait to be back!
