Set within extensive gardens of various subtropical trees and a banana plantation, Quinta da Casa Branca features a boutique hotel and an elegant manor house and offers a heated pool and rooms with... The Quinta da Casa Branca is an absolutely extraordinary hotel consisting of a gorgeous manor house and brilliantly designed and constructed modern buildings with luxurious rooms. The grounds are as beautiful as any I have seen in a Portuguese hotel, and we particularly admired the variety of flora, as well as the informative markers describing the plants and their provenance. The swimming pools, while small, are elegant and serene, and the breakfast is sumptuous. We had dinner one night at the Michelin-rated Dining Room restaurant, where the food and service were absolutely top-notch. And the staff could not have been more helpful. They arranged a brilliant hiking tour of the Levada das 25 Fontes (a must!) and answered all of our requests for information and advice warmly and intelligently. This is a tremendous hotel. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in busy Funchal!

Set within a leafy garden, this hotel boasts an outdoor pool overlooking Funchal coastal cliffs. Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel‘s studios are spacious and decorated with soft beige colours. Everything about this property is simply fantastic. Excellent customer service throughout our stay, the staff was very accommodating and we felt like VIPs. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet, and our balcony view could not be beat. The breakfast buffet was amazing as well, with something for everyone. We also loved the location, it is close to the downtown without being in the heart of it, and the promenade provided excellent walking paths. A great restaurant and a large grocery store were right across the street as well. We will stay here again when we return to Madeira.

Great location, close to the beach and city, good staff, extremely helpful with any nuisance, the apartment has a fridge and kitchen with basic equipment. Nice, tasty breakfast, everyone can choose from. Pools, fittness and sauna are bonus.

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city centre and boasts contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. Great location and value for money, I particularly loved the pool bar , perfect to relax after all day out. The room was spacious and very comfortable
