It’s a lovely historic building. Our executive suite (an upgrade we paid for) was very grand, with an entry foyer, a living room and a large bedroom. The floor carpet and living furniture needed to be replaced, as they were out of date and had seen better days. The rooftop restaurant was terrific.

We HAD TO change rooms: the first room was unbelievably noisy because of disfunctional airco and other loud apparatus on the roof. Moreover the room had a distinct ‘smell’: a combination of something ugly and roomspray. Suffocating.
The second room was really good! The hotel team was great though!

We go to Visalia for a convention.
We go to Visalia for a convention. The home was not the blue cottage as there was a last minute problem with the dates we stayed at the Retro modern Home. It was lovely. Very roomy. Close to Convention Center and close to shopping. The Black Bear Diner was very close.

Nice place we stayed on our road trip heading to Sequoia park. A little noisy because it was next to a main road, but ideal to get to and set off the next morning. The pool was nice and the area around it was lovely to relax after a long day of driving. It could be accessed by the back door of all the bedrooms and there were benches to sit on. Would go again. I don't think there were many cheaper options than this when we were searching.

Close to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon.
Close to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon. Visalia is a wonderful little town with fun diners and cafes. Good time diner is a 50’s theme restaurant with fabulous food at great prices. There is also Granny’s cafe with tasty breakfasts in an old time setting. Mama K’s is a very popular Resturant with the locals located in a stick yard auction building.

Stayed in Visalia to visit both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Although it was a great hotel it was farther than expected to both parks. And, once you arrived at the park entrances, the drive in to the sites was very far. I would recommend staying in the parks if possible. Visalia downtown was cute with many dining options and breweries.

I love a hot cup of tea before going to sleep and a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Miss not having a coffee pot in the room. Since I come to visit my family I don’t need a plush room so this works well. Checking in was quick and simple, thank you to staff.
A near perfect experience. Hotel is situated just outside the lovely city of Visalia, close to the airport. It's about an hours drive from Sequioa National Park which makes it a convenient place to stay for people interested in visiting the park. The room was clean and comfortable, with a newly renovated bathroom and large bed. The hotel offers many on-site amneties such as a pool, bar and restaurant. Staff were also nice and helpful
cleanliness, attention to detail, the staff were amazing! Fresh baked cookies, and light beer waiting for us every evening in the lobby☺️ rooms were super clean and also very spacious. the Dove brand bath products in the rooms were the finishing touch! this is the best place to stay in Visalia, we were there for the world expo and everyone at the La Quinta /Wyndham Sequoia Gateway took great care of us.
I really enjoyed the Lamp Lighter. Loved the garden, clean rooms and the pool is heated. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast at the restaurant. It was really, really good. If you want to go to the Sequoia National park, it’s pretty good place to base yourself and it’s also close to many restaurants and downtown. The Lamp Lighter is a 1960s vintage hotel with lots of charm.
The lobby is beautiful and the front desk staff was lovely. Check in was quick and easy and the accessibility to elevators from the exterior was convenient. Beds were comfortable and pillows were really soft. Room was overall clean, with some exceptions. Free breakfast was on or with other hotels, nothing special but enough to fill your stomach. Overall a good stay.
Room next door was literally using a drill for some reason and was using it all night long. When reported to front desk they called the room next door sound of drill stop for 5 min and then continued again. Called front desk and they did nothing about it. I had to suffer not just for one night but 2 nights . Zero stars if i could
Beautiful hotel with a lot of character, a wonderful rooftop restaurant, and kind staff. Convenient to Sequoia National Park. Was a public are that we were able to do work in. Really made our stay in Visalia special. Also, brunch was phenomenal - especially the biscuits w/ gravy!
I absolutely loved everything! The room was amazing and very spacious! I use a wheelchair and absolutely loved everything the bathroom is very clean and spacious and has a seat to shower in. Will definitely be coming back next time I come to Visalia with my family ☺️
I cannot even begin to describe how rude the owner of the motel was, and how grotesque the room was. I would have slept in my car had it not been for the gentleman sleeping outside my door in the walkway on the ground. Obviously a better alternative.
The spacious spaces are very pleasant for the nine people who traveled together. The rooms are very comfortable, the living room and the dining room too. The apartment is very useful for dividing a large group.
Everything was great! Great, big room, comfy beds, it was clean, big nice pool in the middle of a lovely garden. Best place we have stayed at in our trip (4 different states and about 15 different motels)
No breakfast. The hotel was dirty, the room smelled like urine. We didn’t sleep because of the smell and checked out at 6 am just to get out of there, so not a good experience.
The location is cool downtown visalia there's a store right around the corner, the rooms are spacious the TV has a lot of channels there's a fridge and microwave.
