Our host Jin is superb friendly and helpful. She tried her best to help us and make sure we are comfortable during our stay. Her husband and she even went beyond their way to help us commute to the bus stations and rescued us from a missed bus on a rainy day. Their foods were amazing in a home-cook style. the hotel is located about 40 minutes outside of alishan recreation area, which means you won’t make it for sunrise unless you have your own car. that being said, there’s a couple of viewing platforms and trails within walking distance that are a great option for sunrise/sunset. it’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the nearest “town” (aka 7/11) but there are a few little restaurants nearby to grab dinner or breakfast. if you’re planning to take a bus to/from alishan, there’s a stop conveniently located like right outside the hotel which is nice.
