Well priced airport stopover.
Close to restaurants.
10 min taxi to airport.
We are located in a walk-able downtown of Keflavík and only a mere 5-minute drive from KEF Keflavik International Airport. WiFI is available through out public space and guest rooms.
Situated in Keflavík, 20 km from Blue Lagoon, Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport features accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.
Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland going straight from the airport to the Blue lagoon then checked in.
Not a lot here but there’s a pretty church here
Tip: don’t buy supplies in the airport shop - we stocked up & it cost us a fortune. There’s a Netto in Grindavík

Grindavik is a small, beautiful fishing village close to the Geldingadalur volcano (but not too close) and the Blue Lagoon. It has many excellent hiking opportunities and great restaurants. Grindavik is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Whale-watching, fishing, mountaineering, very friendly people, safe environment, you name it, Grindavik has it all!

Great location for Meradalir.
Great location for Meradalir. Fabulous fish and chips at Papas - Grindavik is a fishing town, so all fish is fresh that morning. Lovely walking around the town. Very peaceful. Great for exploring south coast and peninsula. Only 25 mins from Keflavik.

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. It is not touristy though so don’t expect lots of shops selling the usual.

This is a dock terminal terrible views, bad aspect for tourists, cabin super smaill no microwave, no waste basket in bathroom, nothing to sweep with, place is creepy, huge caping yard nezt to the property that makes it seem dangerous. Lonely area! For this price you can get a top notch place.

Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history.
Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history. It's super close to the Blue lagoon and volcano so, there are many options for hiking or relaxing. There's a grill place with a super nice man who told me a little about the history and life of Grindavik's people and he also sells awesome hotdogs. Wish I could've stayed longer but a huge storm came so I had to run away :)
The cottages were just as described. A neat package. Good views over the harbour. Nice easy drive from the airport and on the doorstep of Blue Lagoon so we stayed two nights so we could have a leisurely few hours at the lagoon. Interesting walk around the coast to the lighthouse too.
And Papa's nearby does the best fish and chips we have EVER tasted - seriously tender and obviously fresh out of the water - Grindavik is a fishing hub.
Oh and my daughter saw the northern lights here briefly - only time on our 10 day visit!
We had previously stayed in Hella experiencing what Iceland has to offer and it was amazing. As it was a belated honeymoon we thought we'd stay a couple days at the retreat to experience what it had to offer. Unfortunately the only thing we liked was the staff, room & cleanliness. The hotel was decorated well and looked nice. The private spa lagoon was a nice intimate touch for relaxing away from the blue lagoon crowd. The breakfast was nice and was hosted in the main lobby. You also get an additional Afternoon tea experience.
This was our favorite hotel ever, period. Their private Blue Lagoon pools were so beautiful. We were in and out of them all day. The restaurants were all delicious. Moss was super delicious - every course - and also a really fun experience. Not pretentious. And for lunch I recommend the the teriyaki beef carpaccio in the spa restaurant. So good! (And even more fun to have in your bathrobe between swims!)
Check in process was clunky as no staff was present for assistance. There were no instructions as to check in process. No in-person assistance was available during our stay. The host did answer the phone readily when we called upon arrival. The room was large and well appointed. Accommodations were clean. Only one of the three beds was made up. Grindavik is a small town so location is not an issue.
Excellent base to visit the Fagradalsfjall active volcano (and Krysuvik) from, not only because it is close but also because the fumes are usually blown away from Grindavik. Spacious, new and well-equipped studio, with lots of storage space and very efficient self-checkin. In walking distance of several restaurants and a big supermarket. Close to the airport too. Very nice and helpful staff.
We have a neutral rating due to not being able to stay here. There was an evacuation for grindavik which ultimately meant we had no accommodation. Both myself and booking.com have tried contacting the property for a refund however we are yet to get any response, it is understandable for the circumstances but would still appreciate being contacted back when possible
The hotel was amazing.
There’s lots of cozy public space to stay with family.
Our kids could enjoy card game and chess there.
And the restaurant served really delicious dinner and reasonable price.
We loved even its starters breads which was soft and sweet.
We found it’s much better to have dinner here than having at blue lagoon.
Loved this house! The husband and wife are super nice and fun to chat with. Right next to a playground and a grocery store. Plenty of dining choices nearby, as well as the blue lagoon. The woodwork was done by the owner, who has a shop downstairs, and they even put some drinks and chocolates in the fridge.
Very roomy room with nice facilities, large bathroom, well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of functional space.
Good location and parking out front (Grindavik is very walkable).
Remote check-in/out system worked well, but you need internet access for codes.
Good Iceland value.
Super clean and very Scandinavian modern. I loved the location (only 7 minutes from the volcano, which is why I stayed in Grindavik) and incredibly comfortable! I slept for 11 hours the second night I was there...amazing bed and quiet location.
The hotel is a short drive from the airport, the staff are very friendly & helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. However, the fact that you can see the Northern Lights right outside the hotel is phenomenal!
Great breakfast, nice and clean rooms, the hostess Björk explained us everything about surroundings of Grindavik, how to get to the volcano, what to see and where to eat. Great value for money. I highly recommend.
The rooms were big and yet very cozy and comfortable! Loved that we could just go upstairs and have breakfast and dinner, both delicious. The hosts were so nice and inviting. Great location for Blue Lagoon!
We arrived early due to our flight time but we’re able to use the beautiful lagoon. The hotel was peaceful and we totally relaxed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and The room was exceptional.
Perfect place for watching the live volcano. Btw the name has changed to Volcano Hotel. One complain was there was no hot water in my after coming back from hiking at midnight,🥲
