Getting around is easy. Nice parks and resorts and tourist areas. I liked the tourist areas around Erbil, short day trips then you can go back to your hotel in the city.
I see that the government is working to improve tourism, however, there is still more work need to be done, investment in the parks and resorts is very important which will bring more tourist locally and internationally.

I would stay in Ainkawa rather than Erbil, it is a waking area. Erbil is a car city, like Dubai or Jakarta. It is not a walking city like Kuala Lumpur or Paris.
If one has a car than Erbil area is nice, especially if one can go up into the mountains in the summer.

Erbil itself is an interesting historical city but you probably only need two days to visit most of the highlights. It's easy to get around as there is always a glut if taxis. It helps if you have gps and you know the local name of where you're going. Staying in Ankawa probably makes the most sense for any tourist as many of the best restaurants ( Fuul & hummus), bars (Dusk) and spas are there.
Erbil is also a perfect base for travelling the governorate including Haji Ormran, gslgurd mountain and Felaw pound, Bekhal, Gali Ali Bag, korek mountain and Shingalbana

A city full of history and culture.
A city full of history and culture. Survivors of thousands of years of war, still able to preserve their culture while embracing modern traditions and culture. so much to see, to do and so many beautiful people. Put it on your bucket list, you won't regret it.
A great experience tbh
The treatment was very wonderful, the staff were respectful and kind.
They were quick to deliver the rooms, meet the needs and the staff was very cooperative, especially the reception staff Mr. Hamza and Mr. Ghaith.
For the breakfast, it was varied and delicious.
I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to spend a good holiday and want to receive attention and upscale treatment.
Try this amazing hotel in the center of Erbil, you will thank me later.
Keep going guys, all respect 👍🏻
I had such an amazing time there. everything was super good, the hotel service was very nice and friendly, I really recommend Merci hotel for anyone that want to have a peaceful time and a good location near to the city center.
The room was very clean with a nice view. And there was also breakfast included everything from fresh food.
and a special thanks to Rasul he was very helpful and friendly 🙏🏻 Thank you guys for such an amazing time.
Well always come back to this hotel if imma stay in Erbil ♥️
My wife and I stayed at two different hotels in Erbil, this one was by far the better value for money. We arrived at 2 am and the reception staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly with excellent English. We were not asked for proof of marriage. The bathroom (and shower itself) were huge and exactly what we needed to detox after a 12 hour bus journey from Diyarbakir. Great views of the city from the pool area and a large private (free) car park.
The hotel and rooms are very clean, all basic services are available, the breakfast buffet is very special and very clean, the staff is very nice and helpful, many thanks to the staff (Rudy and Wasim) for their good treatment and efforts for 24h .. Thank you to the hotel management for the good selection of staff. I would recommend this experience to everyone, There is no doubt that I will come back to this hotel on every visit to Erbil.
Very friendly staff
Rich breakfast (8 types of cheese, 2 types of yoghurt, olive oil and zaatar, 4 types of labneh, vegetables and greens, several types of bread and croissants, lentil soup, eggs on several forms, cooked mashrom, Syrian falafel (magnificent), several Iraqi breakfast dishes, plus coffee amd tea.
7 minutes walking distance from main street (where you can find shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes), clean
This is absolutely my favorite hotel in Erbil!
This staff is clearly the best.
Courteous, and extremely professional.
Social, yet respect my privacy and boundaries.
Ibrahim and Ayaz always remembers what I need, and give amazing service at the best pool in Erbil!
The front desk always goes above, to accommodate my needs, effortlessly.
You all make my feel like royalty.
This was my third visit, not the last.
A western standard hotel in a great location near the famous Erbil Citadel. Staff were fantastic and provided me with much assistance when I went to Mosul for an overnight trip. They offered to help me and gave me some important contact details incase I got stuck between the checkpoints. Fortunately, I didn't need them as my trip went smoothly but their help was much appreciated nonetheless.
The hotel is located in a good part of Erbil. I especially loved the breakfast and it was nice that it was available until 11 a.m. There is a laundry service next door as well as the Carrefour grocery store. There are nice restaurants and a major mall within walking distance. The staff was honest and helpful. It is a great hotel at a reasonable price.
I’ve stayed at the Quartz many times and they never disappoint. Safety and security excellent. Good location, near the Citadel. Staff, especially Michele and manager, Ibrahim were very professional and accommodating to my somewhat “picky” requests. Overall, the best hotel in Erbil. I will always stay at the Quartz!
My brother and I came for tourism in Erbil from the Netherlands and this hotel was special from the rest of the hotel staff is very nice, especially the young man, the creature messenger and the girl with whom he is very nice and hardigent in her work.
And of course I will come to the same hotel next time.
Our stay was a brief one, but having travelled to Erbil before, I knew that Fareeq Hotel was a solid option for us. The staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful. Special thanks to Sami at the front desk. He helped us on many occasions and really made our stay more enjoyable.
I have been staying at Wyndham multiple times during the past year and have to say it is my favorite hotel in Erbil. Staff is very helpful- especially Sherin at the reception always goes above and beyond.
service is 5 stars, room service team is very active and providing very good hospitality. a high welcoming by receptionists stuff, my next staying will be always in Arjaan Rotana.
its the best best hotel ever and never i seen it in the intire erbil, staff was very helpful, cleanness unbelievable, breakfast was incredible and so on everything was pretty
