The location turned out to be great once we got oriented. Only a km from the castle and pub. Easy parking and entry even though we got there late. The hostess was brusque yet funny and the breakfast served promptly and generously.

A beautiful Manor House. I thought I was at Downton Abbey! Very grand and elegant. The hostess, Loretta was so gracious and helpful. It made us feel at home. Our room was so spacious and elegant. The breakfast room was grand as was the full Irish and everything else you could imagine. Close to the village to go for dinner. We loved the grounds, the dogs and Dylan the horse. Such a beautiful animal. A couple of more days would have been nice. Short drive to the airport.

We came to Bunratty to attend the Medieval Banquet.
We came to Bunratty to attend the Medieval Banquet. This is well worth a visit. The food was great! I really enjoyed the Mead welcome drinks too! The staff who were serving our food were also the entertainment. The singing was absolutely fantastic! I sing in a Welsh choir, I was seriously impressed! They instrumentalists were also exceptional. The host was also very funny, so it was a great night! The castle is a fantastic attraction to visit and spend time with family and learn all about the medieval past. After the banquet we went into the village and visited the local pubs. What an exceptional warm welcome we received. Both pubs had musicians playing and singing! What a place to visit for a bit of authentic Irish entertainment.

Bunratty provided a close location to Shannon Airport necessary after an overnight flight. We dined at JP Clarks which is lovely and delicious. Dirty Nelly's was adorable, but we couldn't get service. Bunratty Folk Park is well worth a visit. This is a perfect way to start an Irish vacation.
This is a perfect way to start an Irish vacation. It is a short drive from the Shannon airport and the Bunratty Castle/folk museum is a great way to shake off jet lag. There is shopping and restaurants in town that are very good options.
