Downtown Bantry has many places of interest and is typical of an Irish village. Every Friday there is a market on the main square. It has all the amenities a person needs. A number of good pubs and restaurants. The food at the Brick Oven is really good. Very friendly people. The Connection has all the high-tech equipment a traveler might need.

I liked that we were in a rural area but close to everything. We enjoyed horseback riding, hiking on Sheep's Head, the pubs, restaurants, and shopping. There was an excellent Italian restaurant with great pizza. The butcher was excellent, and we enjoyed shopping at SuperValu.

Bantry is an excellent base for exploring West Cork and beyond. It remains a traditional old-style rural town full of shops and pubs, locally named. Not very touristy. There's a sense of Irish history about it. It has a a very good Tourist Office and a fine new main square. A very good day to be there is a Friday, market day...excellent for every kind of locally made & grown produce. Bantry grows on you, especially the natural friendly warmth of its people. So, stay a while.

Eileen was a wonderful host: She put on a beautiful spread for breakfast and was so so accommodating overall. The weather was a bit of a washout the second day so our initial plans had gone out the window but she had all of the local tips on where to eat and what was worth doing. Her house and gardens are beautiful and about a minute walk from beautiful views with a swimming spot right in the bay. All 5 of us agreed that this is our first port of call next time we are in Bantry!
The host is very kind and thoughtful, even brought me a cup of tea. I liked the electric blanket on the bed, left it easy to fall asleep. Loved the quietness away from the road. The photo's of the rooms and house do not do it justice. Bedroom had dressing table, comfy chair, wardrobe, full length mirror and room nice and bright. Bathroom immaculatly clean with everything i needed
We loved everything about this B&B. Barbara is such a friendly and courteous host who gave us instructions to find the location and restaurant recommendations in advance. The kitchenette that could be used by every guest was a huge plus. We‘ll miss the lovely breakfast, the beautiful view over Bantry Bay and the nice chats with Barbara.
Very warm welcome, the host was very friendly. The room itself was immaculate. The location is in walking distance of the town and we were also provided with a lovely little guide book about the town and surrounding areas. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic views of Bantry Bay and the surrounding wildlife. Siobhan was so helpful with suggestions on places to eat and even driving into town to collect us when we had forgotten our bank card!! Fantastic breakfast the next morning!
Staff very very accommodating as no air con in hotel they sourced a fan for our room. Food delish in Ocean restaurant. Great location for traveling around to different places....Mizen Head, Lough Hyne and Bantry House to name a few.
Everything was absolutely fabulous. Like in a dream. Love the house and the owners were adorable. definitely recommend the place ! Ahakista is awesome. ! ! thanks to all who contributed to this wonderful house and stay.
The house has personality and it was a very calm place. Its location is at the end of a typical West Cork narrow roadway with grass growing in the middle! Lake views and facing the setting sun too!
Friendly host who helped us with parking to avoid the street market. Well located, being a short walk from the pubs and restaurants but far enough away to miss the noise. Lovely view over the bay.
