Beautiful little island, very lively!
The bright colors of the building and the nice sunset views by the water are a great + to this place, and it is very easy to get around
I recommend trying out the street food @tacospeches, very good and super cheap
The town is located 1h30 drive from the ruins of Tikal, and up to 6 shuttles leave daily to get you there
Would recommend around 3 days in Flores!

The island has really noce restaurants and night activities.
The island has really noce restaurants and night activities. it is really easy to get around and people is willing to help you with directions.
Prices are much higher on the island, so is better to buy the stuff you need (sun block for example) outside of Flores.
We had a local guide that took us for the sunrise on tikal were you get to enter the park at 4AM and walk in the jungle still at night.
Then we did the sunset in Yaxha which is amazing.
Flores is a 10 min drive from the airport, so its a really good point for staying.

Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops.
Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops. Great ice cream place on lakeshore. Yummy !
When we got tired from walking after 5 miles that day( not all there) we hired a tuk tuk to bring us back to the hotel. Will definitely be returning there for a longer stay.
Boat tours looked interesting for a future adventure.
We drove and had to get used to the one way streets to get around Flores and find our hotel but so worth the effort. Parking was not an issue though. We parked at hotel and took off on foot

Airlines are a mess.
Airlines are a mess. Avianca overbooked my flight into Flores and was booked the next day. Tag Airlines delayed 2 hours and 15 minutes my flight into Guatemala City. I have been seating at the airport in Flores over 4 hours and I am expected to get to Guatemala City around 0:30 Am (I was supposed to arrive at 10:15 pm)

The island of flores is small and easy to walk. sunset views...
The island of flores is small and easy to walk. sunset views are very good from rooftop bars / restaurants. All are within 5 -10 minute walk.
We chose to take a lake ride to El Mirador and then to the beach Playa Chechenal.
Many sites are available to take day trips .These can be very long days especially to Tikal. We went to Tikal independently and it is highly recommended. I would recommend at least 1 night if not two.
We stayed inside the park at Tikal Inn. It has air conditioning and a swimming pool , we were very pleased and staff is great.
the hotel is a 10 but Peter the owner, his wife and the staff they make it a 12. it’s such a familiar atmosphere and you feel like at home. they provide a delicious breakfast in the morning and also the dinner is really tasty. try the tacos they are so good.
they offer also tours to Tikal. and you can drive easy by boat to Flores island at any time. it’s a nice place to relax and very clean.
thank you so much Peter for hosting us and to help us so much l, we know we were no easy guests.
Hotel Peten has been 100% better than expected for us.
Although we couldn't drive into flores, someone from the hotel staff met us to carry the suitcases and show us the way.
We were very well received by the receptionist where the keys were already ready.
The rooms are spacious and have a nice and clean bathroom.
Breakfast was also good and served in a timely manner.
We received a lunch box for our trip to Tikal.
We will definitely visit this hotel again in the future.
The hotel and its location are unique for those seeking tranquility in a beautiful and secluded place that is not captured by the great hustle and bustle of Flores or Tikal. The entire complex with its bungalows and houses is excellently maintained and tastefully decorated. From the balconies one has a view of the lakes. Due to the seclusion, it is not only very quiet at night, but also so dark that the place is ideal for observing the night sky.
pool and bar/restaurant was beautiful, incredibly clean, gorgeous water views from an awesome balcony. can’t say enough good things. the staff was really nice and we decided to come back for a second night after our overnight trip to Tikal just to relax a bit more by the pool and enjoy this place. also hands down the best water pressure we’ve had in the 3 weeks we’ve been traveling around Guatemala. so happy.
The breakfast was really nice. Custom made pancakes & omelettes were outstanding ! Fresh fruit juices and the fruit plate were equally enjoyable. It was nice to enjoy breakfast with a terrific view of Lake Peten. Wait staff is great too ! Special saludos to Bolontiku managers Percy & Mariela and bar staff Nelson & Shirley. Their hospitality was genuine and much appreciated ! Muchas Gracias a todo !
Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location, but everything on Flores island is. It's located inside a travel tour agency that offered inexpensive quality tours. It has huge potential if they get their act together freshen it up some, corrrect their listings decription. It is the cheapest private room in the area, but you are getting what you pay for.
The location couldn't be better! If you are looking for a beautiful, clean, safe hotel for you and your partner or family, look no further! The views are incredible and the pool is sooooo relaxing! A great hotel for both kids and adults. Guests have access to the pool at Hotel Peten (a couple doors down), and the free breakfast is DELICIOUS!
Great location in Flores and very affordable. It was a bit difficult for a tuk tuk to find as it is up an alley way. The hotel had a fully stocked kitchen or offered cooked meals. It would've been nice if the kitche. was open 1 more hour until 10pm. The room was fully air-conditioned with a tiny bathroom.
The Hotel is located really close to the main entrance to Flores Island. It has nice balconies and it's quite fresh. The cleaning is spotless. We saw they moving the beds to clean all around it one day. It's always smelling fresh and new, we had 2 big beds and the bathroom was ok.
this was probably the best hostel I've stayed at in Central America. the place is spotless, super comfy room with a nice bathroom and hot shower. there is also AC which helps during hot nights.
the staff are very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend.
Excellent hotel a few kilometers from Flores. Very welcoming and relaxing, with parking, swimming pool, garden and very good restaurant. Rooms and bathroom spacious and very well furnished. exceptional cleanliness. Highly recommended
The room was spacious; clean and smelled very good.
The bed was a bit hard but comfortable!
The best part of the hotel are the terrasse with view to the lake and the patio with a very chill vibes!!
The hotel is in a great location right on the lake with a good view. The rooms were clean with great air con. Exactly what we needed for our two day trip to Flores to see Tikal.
Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff, cute cat Michi, they book your Tikal tours/shuttles with the best agency in Flores, nice terrace right on the lake.
The hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The view from room 301 was spectacular. Flores is still quiet and this side of the island was tranquil. Just fabulous.
