The staff were very friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and we asked if they could do something about it. The next day they changed the mattress for a new one which was perfect.

I made a mix up whilst booking, the owner of the hotel telephoned me in person the next day to reassure me dates could be changed and not to panic. She even very kindly threw in a room upgrade. The Customer Service was excellent and the hotel and location were fab too, as was the big breakfast!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the comfort of the beds. They were so comfortable that it felt like sleeping on a cloud, ensuring a great night's sleep.
The hotel's cleanliness was impeccable, with every corner spotlessly maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable and stress-free. Additionally, the drinks at the hotel were not only delicious but also very reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise and allowed me to unwind without worrying about a hefty tab.
Overall, my experience was exceptional, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, this hotel is sure to exceed your expectations!

Lincoln was a powerhouse of medieval England and retains amazing monuments from that period. In the Uphill district is the castle built for William the Conqueror. Inside its an original copy of the Magna Carta and its ramparts offer fabulous city views. Across the cobbled square which houses the large Christmas market is huge Lincoln Cathedral whose unusual façade features 2 tall towers, while another at its centre overlooks the Bishop’s Palace.
Connecting the cathedral quarter with the Downhill district is aptly named Steep Hill, a narrow street lined with unique shops and historic buildings including the Jew’s House. Even older are the Roman Newport Arch, Mint Wall and the well on Bailgate.
This road slopes down to meet the River Witham at High Bridge, a stone-arched structure with a half-timbered building atop that is the oldest of its kind in England. Lincoln boat trips depart from the Brayford Pool just west.
Another monument is the 18th-century Ellis Mill, opposite the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. The Collection combines an archaeology museum and art gallery, while The Lawn has a conference centre and the Joseph Banks Conservatory, displaying artefacts he brought back from adventures with Captain Cook.

Good Things:
Staff were very nice and helpful.
Location was great, close to lots of places.
Bad Things:
No slippers in room even though I asked for them.
Breakfast was not good, not enough food.
Bathroom and toilet were too small
The staff were really friendly, but there were some problems too. I asked for slippers but never got them. The breakfast did not have much choice. And the bathroom felt cramped because it was so tiny.
The location was convenient at least, making it easy to walk around. Overall an okay stay, but could have been better if the issues with amenities were fixed

Lincoln is a good place to visit with a lot of history to look around. The cathedral area is walkable from the newer centre albeit up Steep Hill which as it's name suggests is tiring but worth it. There is a bus that goes from the bottom end of the city to the cathedral area.

Not too touristy.
Not too touristy. Must-sees are the castle and cathedral, and (if you can manage it) Steep Hill. Plenty of independent shops and restaurants, as well as all the chains on the flat part near the river. City walk (most weekends and free, with donations) really worth doing.

Love it all, from the shopping on the high street, the wonderful new Corn Exchange area and on up steep hill to the cathedral/castle quarter.
We would recommend the free walking tours, we did the Roman history one and Matt our guide was brilliant, showing us remnants of the roman walls and giving us a visual idea of how things were.
There are plenty of pubs and bars to choose from but we particularly loved the Magna Carta, which had a brilliant band playing on the night we went in.
Lincoln is brilliant and I love it!

History, shopping, and a great big hill!
History, shopping, and a great big hill! Well worth the effort walking up Steep Hill to get the inspirational Cathedral atop; plus there are plenty of boutique shops to pop in on the way for a rest. As a bonus for the kids is that there's a good ice-cream parlour at the bottom and a local fudge shop almost at the top!
This is a wonderful hotel. It’s really boutique like inside. Staff were all really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms all modern and clean. The restaurant was great, we had one dinner and two breakfasts within our party and it lived up every time. The second day we got car parking permits from reception which was a lovely bonus. We were a party of up to 11 over two nights. A couple of people want to visit Lincoln again and have said they’ll book The Tower Hotel next time.
The hotel was brilliantly located with 2 lively Public Houses, an Indian and Spanish restaurant within 100 yards. It was only a short walk into Lincoln town centre and the quayside. The cafe in the courtyard was owned by the hotel and provided a good cooked breakfast at a reasonable price. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. The furniture in the room was old fashioned but this is exactly what we like in a hotel room. All in all this hotel was an excellent choice.
The room was lovely. Carpet was lovely and fluffy, beautiful curtains. The mattress was the best I've slept on in a hotel for a while. Breakfast was lovely although I wasn't a fan of the Lincolnshire sausages but hubs soon cleared them off lol!! The manager was friendly and helpful. The hotel position is great for the castle and cathedral. Car park very close and only £9 for 24hrs. Will definitely be staying again hopefully won't leave it 7 years til our next visit.
All of the staff at the hotel and restaurant were wonderful, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and so was our dinner, which we had included in the room rate. There was a lovely outdoor terrace for afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks. The hotel was located in a pretty village and was only a short drive from Lincoln city centre.
The rooms are just like home and the house is a great departure from the standard corporate hotels. Breakfast was outstanding as the owner prepared a wonderful meal. Local jams and relishes were outstanding. I had a nice walk the evening I arrived toward the down town area, interesting shops and local foods.
Had the carvery at dinner food was good. All the staff who were in contact with were excellent, particularly the lady on reception (who seemed to be working the whole of our three day stay). SHE WAS A DEFINITE ASSET TO THE HOTEL. Also dining room staff /chef were very obliging and according to our request.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the waterside at Brayford Wharf, so very close to bars and restaurants in Lincoln. The breakfast was good quality, in the restaurant at the top of the hotel, so the views across the city were nice. The staff we encountered were all very polite and helpful.
The location was very good for walking into Lincoln down the canal path with free parking on site. It was very quiet at night time and we slept very well. The hotel room was clean and the shower was very powerful. Breakfast was nice with table service for hot food and help yourself cereals.
The room was lovely and quiet with a really comfy bed and a great view.
Got to try the restaurant food on this occasion and it was amazing, both evening meal and breakfast. We would always use the Tower Hotel when staying in lincoln as the value for money is spot on.
Excellent hotel in the old Lincoln Town right by the castle and cathedral with parking, friendly staff, nice lounge area with excellent cocktail bar, comfy clean room, nice tasty breakfast, didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening and so many restaurants nearby.
It's an Ibis so expectations were not high. Friendly check-in, clean comfortable room with good shower. Reasonably spacious, but I was on my own. Well situated on the Lincoln ring road so okay for a night.
Lovely large twin room, appreciated the Dove shampoo and Body Wash in the shower. The hotel was very clean and breakfast was good too. Would recommend this hotel to others staying in Lincoln.
Unbeatable location, beautiful place. All the basic stuff for cooking supplied + tea, dinner, milk.
We were absolutely happy and comfortable. Checkin in and out is super easy.
Love Lincoln.
Both the location & the hotel were acceptable and having been down into bLincoln we were pleased to have stayed in the location we did near the Cathedral.
AS stated above all the aspects of a hotel are catered for in a professional and effective manner. Whenever I am in Lincoln, IBIS is my hotel of choice.
