I have not visited Bridlington for many years and it's a typical English resort. For me, it's more suited for families with young children as it has great beaches. There's a tourist train that runs along the seafront and it was full so it's popular with visitors. Bridlington can be a good base too for days out to other resorts such as Filey, Hornsea and Flamborough Head.

Traditional seaside resort with evidence of more effort put into it, a harbour and a huge beach. Wide range of independent shops and cafes/pubs/restaurants, great cliff walks and RSPB Bempton a couple of miles North. Massive sea bird colonies.

We visited for the Race to the Waves weekend, it was very well organised. Bridlington town was nice, it also had a few places we could take our dog - eg cafes/restaurants.
Old town is also worth a visit

It depends what people want.
It depends what people want. A good place for children, with rides on the front and arcades for games. We didn't go on the beach, too cold. Quite a few nice shops and cafes. Where we stayed was literally 5 minutes walk from the Spa theatre, which we went to for 2 evening shows. It also has a cafe. About 10 minutes walk to the harbour and town centre. It seemed to have plenty of buses for people staying further out.
There were 2 restaurants across from the theatre. A Mediterranean and a Chinese. We had meals at the Mediterranean, which were good and understood that the Chinese was also a good place to eat.
Fish and chip shops were also in the town centre.

We arrived in the rain, and found it tricky to find our way around eventually finding the harbour carpark. The seafront beyond the amusement arcades which look a bit rundown, is pleasant with a lovely promenade with good access for everyone.Lovely sandy beachtoo. We spent our visit at nearby Sewerby Hall and gardens, Flamborough cliffs and Bemptoncliffs. Marton Grange is a cosy haven after walking the coastal paths.

Wonderful place.
Wonderful place. Something for everyone, quiet parts, lively parts, child friendly, lots of spaces where dogs are allowed, clear notices where they are not. The promenade: lots of public toilets signed wit the distance between so you can see which is nearest. Nice to see the harbour. Lots of shops in the centre of town.
I last visited the Monarch Hotel in 1975 when it was one of Bridlington premier hotels. It has obviously changed a lot since then and is catering for a different clientele but the staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and of a high standard and the breakfast was basic but still prepared to a very high standard, the sausage bacon and grilled tomato were surprisingly good. When I booked the Monarch I new what to expect but I wanted to see how the old place looked. Much better than any Britannia Hotel we have ever stayed in.
Steve & Tony are excellent hosts, very friendly & helpful. The hotel is well located in a quiet area just a short walk from the beach & Bridlington town centre. Nice room with en suit & all the extras you could wish for, they even provided some excellent home made biscuits. Breakfast was exceptional, with a vast choice from full English to fresh fruit fruit salad & English muffins with eggs of your choice.

Our Executive Room was clean, very comfortable and spacious.
We stayed overnight as we were going to a show in Bridlington. The hotel is only a few minutes drive away so is ideally located for a visit to Bridlington.
Breakfast was lovely, a good choice of items on the menu.
All staff were pleasant and polite.
Good location just one street back from the sea front. Breakfast was very good plenty of choice. Only £3 parking charge for whole stay just outside the Hotel or very close by. We had a good sized well equipped room without a view which was a bit cheaper as we were out most of the time.
We cycled the Way of the Roses and finished in Bridlington yards from the hotel. They have a garage to store bikes in and made us some sandwiches even though it was late. When you’re exhausted you need to find a place like this to look after you.
This is a little gem, we have stayed in Bridlington numerous times and this is by far the best.
The hotel and room was immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, all needs catered for, and lovely owners.
Perfect location for the centre of Bridlington. The hotel was clean and had lovely, comfy rooms. The owners were really nice, and the breakfast was spot on. Would definitely stay again. Thank you 🙂
Excellent location for accessing both the centre of Filey and the seafront.
A welcoming cuppa and cake on arrival, attentive hosts, excellent breakfasts.
A really good guest house.
Quiet location close to the beach. Nice to have the verandah to sit on. Easy reach to use the park and ride and land Train or a lovely walk into Bridlington.
Location was excellent 2 mins from seafront and centre of promenade, Tesco express close by, plus plenty of restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
