We were upgraded to a suite, which had 2 separate bedrooms. The larger room had a whole sitting area, and the bathroom was large and separate. Lovely, spacious, peaceful accommodations.

We loved Amboise, very easy to walk anywhere you want to go. The restaurants are all welcoming, The food was excellent. But remember you are in the country side everything stops serving at 8:00 pm, you are not in Paris. We rented a car it is the easiest way to see the surrounding area.

Amboise is absolutely charming!
Amboise is absolutely charming! Chateau Amboise is one of my favorites and Clos Luce is a must as Leonardo da Vinci's last home. I was there in February for only 2 nights, so unfortunately, the Garage de l'Art was closed. However, I did meet Fernand Martin-Dumagny, the owner and artist, across the street at the brewery. Everyone was very kind and hospitable; I really wish I had more time to enjoy this lovely town!

If you want to be surrounded by Americans when you are in a foreign country then Amboise is the place for you. On the positive side, my traveling companion became ill while we were in Amboise, and I felt perfectly comfortable going out in the evening by myself. In a larger city, that might not have been th case. Similarly, it was easy to get in and out of Amboise to see many other sites in the Loire Valley

If you are considering a trip to the Loire Valley, we recommend Amboise as the hub. Why? It's a charming village right on the Loire River with it's own chateau right in the town. Much smaller than Tours, close to the rail line, affordable and attractive hotels and B&Bs, and close to premier chateaux such as Chenonceau and Chambord. Lots of restaurants and cute shops.

Beautiful buildings and numerous sites to explore and lots of restaurant choices all within walking distance of the B&B. We even found a wonderful little brew pub ("Art is an Ale") with locals enjoying the beers.

A friendly small town right on the Loire river with lots of good restaurants cafes and bars. Great places to visit within Amboise and close by such as Clos Luce with its wonderful Da Vinci gardens and exhibition, Chateau Chenonceau and the Pagoda de Chanteloup.
And of course there’s all that delicious wine and food of the Loire 👍
Such a great, supportive host, and a stellar location from which to visit Amboise and the Chateaux. We had a rental car and easily visited 5 in three full days. The host is very helpful with many thoughtful touches to make you more comfortable during your stay. The apartment is not luxurious, but clean and practical, perfect for our needs with a well-equiped kitchen and washing machine in the adjoining converted garage. Based on the pins on the world map in the bedroom, guests from all over the world have stayed there.
It was a beautiful, historic property in the center of the small city of Amboise. We walked pretty much everywhere within 5-10 minutes, to wonderful little shops and restaurants. The breakfast at our hotel was lovely with many different options such as eggs done to order, fruit, different meats and cheeses, and lattes and cappuccinos. On a warm afternoon, after a little sightseeing, we would retire back to our wonderful little sanctuary and relax by the very private pool, very enjoyable!
We looked for quaint old houses/ hotels which summed up the feeling of the real old France & found it here. The hotel was perfectly clean & well managed in a perfect location, with parking in the little wooded car park opposite. The usual standard continental breakfast was served in a small, yet adequate dining room. The staff were most helpful. The location was perfect for the town & the house/ exhibition where Leornado da Vinci spent the last 3 years of his life....certainly worth a visit
The Chateau itself and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The breakfast was very good. The dinner was easily the best we had through our two week stay in France, amazing. Asma (the manager I believe) takes care of your every need, has recommendations for dinner, sites, winery's etc and may be the nicest most helpful person we have come across in the entire hospitality industry. We hope to return in warmer months to enjoy the pool.
This property is in a wonderful location in the centre of the historic town of Amboise. We were able to walk to the Chateaux in Amboise, the shops, the cafes and restaurants, to the river, the market and all other main attractions. The property has secure parking and a sheltered, private courtyard to sit out in. The property has a spacious kitchen and is very well equipped. The owner was available if we had needed anything.
The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk in either direction, the Clos Lucé to the east and the château of Amboise to the west, walking on the rue Victor Hugo. Leonardo da Vinci walked the same path when visiting King François 500 years ago!
The apartment was spacious, quiet and well appointed, with almost everything that we needed. And it was spotlessly clean and smelled good too!
Amazingly convenient location in the centre of Amboise, right near the chateau and many restaurants. The breakfast was croissant, baguette and jams, with orange juice and coffee. They'll make you an espresso if you ask, which was awesome. Even though we were told the wifi wouldn't work in the room, only communal areas, it stretched to our room, which was convenient.
Beautiful chateau that felt like home but had great amenities. Believe me, I have never been so happy to have A.C. due to the heatwave and an elevator to make getting the luggage in the room easy. Also, it has an excellent location to visit chateau du Chenonceaux and Amboise. Beautiful rooms, living spaces, and park. Friendly staff too! Thank you Laurence!!!
Charming staff. Very comfortable room. Very good restaurant. Excellent stopping-off point when driving from SW France to Calais. It's the third Novotel in the region that we have tried (the others being Le mans and Orleans). They have all been of a good standard but this is the best in my view.
This is a very clean and roomy hotel centrally located within Amboise. I cannot say enough about the host Sophie. She is fantastic! Very responsive, informative and pleasant. We had plenty of room for a family of 5. This was the best lodging of our 2 and a half week trip to France!
Host was wonderful! They were very accommodating. The location is also excellent - right next to the chateau d’Amboise and downtown area. Parking was close by and free and grocery stores, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance.
This B&B was a great find. It was our favorite place that we stayed on our vacation in France. The hosts Alison and Peter were so welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were amazing and we enjoyed the company of the other guests.
Excellent location to walk around the sights of Amboise. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Room bright and airy and spacious by European standards. Has an air of comfortable luxury! Breakfast was tasty and plentiful
This small family owned hotel is a small perle in the middle of Amboise, perfect for a 2-3 day stay to explore the fabulous area with lots of historic chateau's. The hotel staff is very friendly and everything was neet.
The stay extended my expectation. Very cosy boutique hotel. The style, cleanliness, quality of food and an amazing host - all was just perfect. Next time I'll plan to stay longer at this charming place in Amboise.
