So easy to find, and the location was great for the ferry in the morning . Also the off street parking for our motorcycles. The restaurant attached was the best meal I've ever had in Spain.

Laredo has a lovely old part to the town with a huge number of places to eat and drink. There is also a beautiful Gothic style church with a Guide who speaks English. 1,euro entry. The Comino trail runs along the coast and through the town so is easily accessible.
Near to the harbour/marina is a tunnel which runs through the cliff about 200 metres. Free. There are murals on the walls of fish.
A trip to Santona by boat is well worth it as it goes out across the bay to see the lighthouse and along the coast to see the old Forts. There is also an excellent natural history museum which looks at the history of the area and the wildlife. Free entry. There is also a footpath where you can walk out to the Forts and lighthouse.
The Alsa coach service runs coaches all over Spain and are very reasonable, best to book online. Santander to Laredo direct took 40minutes and cost 22euros for seniors. The coaches have reclining seats, WiFi, toilets.
The area is very Spanish with few people speaking English but they are extremely helpful.

I disagree with some of the negative comments about Laredo on this website. If you are looking for somewhere which is very touristy and commercialised it is not for you. If, however, you are looking to get a genuine Spanish experience and mingle with the locals (a smattering of Spanish is sometimes handy) then it is a great place. The locals are very friendly and there are some lovely cafes and restaurants. A walk round the old town is very interesting, and you get a real feel for its history.

Hard to find somewhere to have dinner, pinchos on offer were limited. It feels a little jaded, took the short ferry across to Santona and it was a much more lively place, I would recommend going there.

Laredo is a nice town with a beautiful beach and promenade. Car parking near the town centre and the old town was challenging. We were there in august on the week of the parade of flowers so it perhaps extra busy? As far as we could see ,with the exception of the port area, there was no designated car parks and although there was plenty of street parking it was almost impossible finding an available space. Boat trips across to Santona are available from the port area. Laredo is a great base for touring around the region.

Laredo is an off the beaten track town which has an interesting history and a lovely old town. The beach is sandy with plenty of sport areas and an medical room base if needed. There is a lovely historical walk up to the headland which I would recommend.

The beech is wonderful - one of the best I have seen. The town is nice, calm with more activities around the old town. You can find some nice restorans with really good food. Nice place for relaxation.
Excellent location. You can walk everywhere in Laredo. So many restaurants and grocery stores close. you can see the beach leaning out the window. In winter and early spring, you can surf at the port right in front of the apartment. You have view of Atalaya to the East. Large TV in bedroom is smartTV. Apartment has lots of light. Brand new laundry machine. Lots of very hot water (had to get it adjusted at first). Owner very helpful and communicative. Comfortable beds,
Comfortable beds. Reasonably quiet despite being quite close to main road. Not too far (about 15 minute) to walk into Laredo centre. Nice lady on reception. Despite the fact that the lady didn't speak English, I managed to borrow a hair dryer from her.
We found a great seafood restaurant in the centre - the Restaurante Marisqueria La Vina. The owner/chef was so nice and helpful. He used a translator app to run through the menu.
A stupendous location seemingly remote near the end of a gorgeous silver strand, yet near to dining options and within a short drive of downtown Laredo. Views of the bay and headlands are fantastic.
Super friendly staff, hearty breakfast (or light, as you desired).
Our first visit to Laredo was too short to see and enjoy it all. We definitely hope to come back soon and stay longer.
Centrally located, spotlessly clean, comfortable apartment with space & great daylight balcony.
The lovely appointed apartment had everything for a short or long term stay, even the small details like spices, instant coffee & house supplies were provided.
The host Thomas, was really gracious snd helpful.
This is like an abandoned hotel. We booked the continental breakfast based on the website advertising that it would be unforgettable with the view. But there is one staff member who seems to work night and day. The hotel is practically abandoned. Breakfast was pre packaged everything . Fruit was old.
The hotel was great, but the main attraction is location, location, location. It is a fabulous location. The beach and the city were a surprise winner. The hotel is a short walk from the best restaurant we have eaten at so far on this Camino pilgrimage. Get one of the top floor rooms with a view.
This hotel needs investment. No plugs bear bed and only 1 working. No water in rooms. Bath took 30 mins to fill ( water was not really hot). Breakfast was simple and nice. It’s maritime touches are nice but the furniture is old and uncomfortable and not re upholstered for years.
The hotel was well located with good easy access to Santander ferry 40km away. The staff were helpful. The room was clean and fresh with traditional furniture. Free private parking available. There was a continental breakfast included, served in an attractive dining room.
brilliantly located near the main beach with easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. parking for our motorcycles right in front of the hotel. comfortable rooms. staff on the front desk: Christina and Nerilla were very helpful and spoke superb English.
The staff throughout the hotel from Reception to the Restaurant were very welcoming. I had fore warned that I needed gluten free food. They were really geared up for this. Excellent. The room had a beautiful view over the bay.
The room was spacious, clean and the hotel is located near the Bus Station, restaurants, bars and the beach. The staff was very helpful during the whole stay. The facilities were great overall.
The view was to die for! Staff was very accommodating and very helpful. Family ruined hotel! Everybody knows each other like my hometown Laredo, Texas. Definitely be back to this hidden gem!
Very friendly staff! Very tasty local food in the hotel's restaurant.
The hotel is a mid way between Bilbao and Santander, so we could stay there and visit lots of great places within a day.
