Nice hotel with good service, the pool needs maintenance, the gym gets cleaned late but they are on top of it. Breafast is pretty good, but I would like fresh eggs, not cold ones on the buffett pan.

El Morro was impressive, Azapa is very interesting, the city center was nice, the beaches were good and not too crowded. Above all, the people were very friendly.
There are many good places to eat in the city center. Sometimes they are a little hidden, but look for hidden gems.
Taxi's are a good means of travel and a lot can be reached on foot.

Avoid Playa Chinchurro and go to the Playa Lacua and Playa Livera instead - much cleaner, safer and you can swim there.
Be sure to check out El Morro mirador - it will give you a good sense of the city layout.
Go to San Miguel museum - it's a must-do.
If you want to go to Parque Lauca, be sure to book in advance as tours seem to be only available Dec-Feb.

Arica has some beautiful beaches to stay and relax a few days. 1 day is enough to visit the city center: Plaza Colon and El Morro. Avoid walk around after sunset. From Arica take a taxi to visit the Archaeological Museum of San Miguel of Azapa (it is closed on Mondays).

Small, partially poor and partially dirty town near the border with Peru. OK for a short stay, I would not recommend it for a longer stay, due to the lack of places to see and things to do, to the Chilean arrogance and to the expensive prices
The hotel is right at Chinchorro Beach and in walking distance to Arica city center and Mallplaza Arica. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived. Parking space was provided safely inside the premises. The room is super clean and the bed is very comfortable. The water in the shower is hot immediately. Breakfast is from 0730 hours and is nice. Staff is always friendly and forthcoming. If one likes going out there are plenty of bars/restaurants just outside
The entire staff was delightful. I was allowed to check in very early during the slow season. The free breakfast was surprisingly good. A hilariously content tortoise lives in the common area. A hilariously self-impressed dachshund roams elsewhere. From my experience this was very much like a hotel with single rooms. I don't know about the availability of actual hostel dorms, but it's a fabulous physical space with a lovely and helpful staff.
The hotel is centrally located in Arica, super clean. It has a well-equipped kitchen and communal areas, and is very clean and has a nice patio with trees.
Most of all, the staff is super-friendly and gave us many tips and suggestions for travelling to the nearby petroplyphs, as well as the altiplano, such as Socoroma, Lago Chungará etc.: this really made the difference.
We planned to stay 2 nights, but ended up staying 5 nights!
Cecilia makes you feel at home! We were only in Arica for a quick overnight stay, so the location near the bus station and the beach was perfect for us. Cecilia also gave us recommendations for an evening outing. The room and bed were very comfortable and exactly what we needed.
This is an amazing property, directly on the beach. The food is gourmet, truly exceptional for a small hotel, and teh staff are welcoming and warm. The architecture is cool, unique, and we enjoyed everything about our stay. We have been here twice and will definitely return.
The hotel is a bit out of downtown Arica but thats what makes it special. It's quiet, has everything you need on the grounds and a front row seat to the Pacific ocean. We found it very relaxing. The food from the restaurant was superb and the staff really does try to please.
Very friendly host and nice hostel with a good price. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The hostal has a large and nice common area. It is located next to what we think is the nicest beach close to Arica. We even were allowed to check in early at 6;00 am.
We paid 29000 clp, which is a fair price compared to other places we've seen in Chile. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was good. Beds comfy and shower hot. Location is close to the beach and walking distance from bus terminals.
The host was so welcoming, the outlook was great and the room with a kitchen was perfect for our family. We loved how clean and bright the apartmento was and its vicinity to the Old Arica allowed us to stroll around happily
Nice hotel with good service, the pool needs maintenance, the gym gets cleaned late but they are on top of it. Breafast is pretty good, but I would like fresh eggs, not cold ones on the buffett pan.
