Location is amazing, breakfast was great. Bathroom facilities were very small and cramped. Room was clean and had a great view of the lake and the snow capped mountains.
The Brienz hotel enjoys a quiet location 300 metres from Lake Brienz, on the outskirts of the city. It offers free parking and a fine restaurant with a terrace.

The property can be accessed via train and bus, it’s a little too far too walk with heavy luggage but it is probably doable. The walk to the lake is totally fine without luggage. The property was comfortable and breakfast was good.

A nice place for the travellers want to stay away from the busy cities like interlaken and Lucerne. Never the less well connected with both of places with a travel time of 30 minutes to 1 Hour by train. It’s must visit city alongwith the Rothorn Kulm. The lake is very nice and you can find food mart (COOP) very near to Brienz station along with local restaurants there.

Brienz is a small town on the shore of the Brienzersee that in October was a very beautiful and peaceful place to stay. It has a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The Rothornbahn will take you to the top of the Brienzer Rothorn with is fabulous views of the Alps. There are a lot of hiking trails that are easily accessible from Brienz. You can also take the boat across the lake to hike around Giessbach falls and enjoy the terrasse bar at the Grandhotel. We enjoyed eating at Tea Room Walz (which had a great vegan option) and Berghaus Planap (a bit of a hike). An outstanding selection of cheeses can be found at Chas Fritz. We also just enjoyed walking along the lake on the Brienzer Uferweg.

True gem of Switzerland.
True gem of Switzerland. A wonderful wood carving town by the lake side. Great food and culture here. Perfect place for walks. If you need to chill out without an agenda and do your own thing , this is a good option to explore. Safe to travel with loved ones. Locals are respectful and friendly. Also a good place to make a base and travel to other cantons of the country for day trips via ferry , train and bus (highly recommend taking a Swiss Pass) You can also take a dip in the lake and drink alpine water straight from the tap as the locals themselves do and recommend.

Brienz has the best of both worlds.
Brienz has the best of both worlds. On the one hand, it is a charming village with traditional buildings, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and with wonderful views over the Alps and the lake. On the other hand, it has shops and restaurants and it is served by frequent public transport, so you can use it as a base to explore the region, even if you don't have a car.
The location is amazing with the waterfalls and the lake, and the hotel is proper old school grand - very much lives up to its name !
Staff were all helpful and friendly and our waiter for dinner really helped to make it a great experience.
The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were soft but supportive. Slept really well.
We had a room with a waterfall view which was stunning and the noise helped us to sleep really well ! The view from the balcony was just lovely.
Breakfast was great - plenty of choice and all delicious.
I booked the cheapest single room which was only slightly more than what other places were charging for a shared dorm room. My room was much nicer than expected with a lovely balcony overlooking Lake Brienz. Hotel is run by a lovely old lady Monique and her daughter and has a really friendly family feel. They have lots of interesting original historic tourist posters, one of which I was able to buy as a souvenir. I look forward to bringing my family here next time we are in Switzerland.
Loved the location, the space, the balcony views of Lake Brienz and one of the best hosts we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Parking was plentiful in the area and reasonably priced at 5 CHF a day between 7am and 7pm. The train station is an easy walk. We were able to walk to rent a boat and to the wildlife park. This is a great (less touristy) area to base yourself and explore this part of Switzerland.
Great location on the lake. View from balcony was so beautiful and peaceful. We liked that it was secluded a bit and we enjoyed walking 15 mins to the Brienz West train stop as the walk is right along the water. We ate at the restaurant one night and it was delicious. We enjoyed the hosts very much. Highly recommend this hotel. We loved it.
Location is great. It is right around Lake Brienz. Walking distance (longer walk) to the train station and to Lake Brienze. We did have a car, walk to station would be about 12-15 minutes, but coming back may be hard as it is uphill. We loved the view from the house, and had a beautiful garden and balcony to enjoy the mountains.
Nice small hotel near by Brienz, good starting point for our excursions. Clean triple room with a balcony and a partial lake view with. Long duvets. Good breakfast and very good food in the hotel restaurant. Nice and friendly stuff. A lot of entrance fee discounts with hotel card for the activities in the area around both lakes.
It was called an Economy Room but it was better than many "normal" rooms I have stayed in. Great hotel in an amazing location with lake swim point right behind it. Special thanks to Maria the receptionist who was very friendly and helpful. I cam by bicycle and they were very helpful accommodating that
The location,the outside garden area.
Traditional Swiss chalet feel.
Breakfast was very good, I loved the local products,my favourites were the salami and the honey.
The woman from Slovenia Kristena was very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of tips on what to do around Brienz and Interlaken area.
It was cosy and special- the food was delicious. They had cute little station for self service different teas and coffee… even soup you can make in a cup with hot water :)
Location was good and close to Interlaken , we were by car but I also saw a buss passing by in front of the hotel.
The view of Lake Brienz and the waterfalls are stunning. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. Dinner was decent ( we really like the venison) as was breakfast- quite the spread. Our room was normal sized, clean and comfortable. Nice modern bathroom.
Clean and big house enough for family of four adults and 2kids ,view of mountains is awesome .All required cutlery and crockery was present. owners was present for any assistance required. Very near to all tourist spots and Brienz lake
It is near the Brienz Train Station ca. 5 min by Car. The Lake and Mountain View were amazing. Kudos to sir Adi Ghanekar the hotel director for being sympathetic, hospitable and Kind to tourist like us.
Very nice hotel just at the train and boat station of Brienz and Brienz-Rothron Bahn is just at your window . Staffs were very cordial. Room is super cozy. Loved the hotel and Lake Brienz.
The location by Lake Brienz was fantastic, lovely view from almost all rooms. Restaurant on-site which was convenient. A short walk to Brienz West train station.
