Sheki is an amazing city. The following places are a must see,
Xan Sarayi, Karavan Sarayi, and the Albanian church in Kishi.
Try to avoid having food in touristic places. I have noticed that they have a separate menu (Almost 75% more price) for tourists.
Walking is the best way to get around sheki. Take taxi (Make sure you fix the price in advance) to the kishi village.

If you are seeking enjoying great food in the heart of historical places Sheki is the great destination to visit. You can feel in every street, corner the warmness of local people, pleasant weather and rich nature. Though I was there in December the weather was quite warm to walking around and exploring city by foot.

A lush, green place. It can rain at anytime.
Quiet and relaxed.
Friendly people.
Buses, vans and taxis available to move around.
Some areas don't have streetlights so you might want to be careful after sunset, which was around 8:30pm.
Great place to relax, for food, silk, handicrafts and sweets.

Sheki Khan Palace is small and can be finished quickly[6rooms in all]. The walk and the views are worth the visit. The Juma Masjid is good but beware of the keeper asking for tips. You can find such people in every Masjid/place in Azerbeijan. VIP Karavan restorant very reasonable and good. Avoid the bazaar. Albanian Church of Kish is worth a visit. Shopping in Sheki could be avoided since it is tourist destination and hence rates are very high compared to other places.

Sheki can be explored in 2 days (unless you're hiking there too).
Must-see/do:
1. Shah's Summer Palace including fortress walls, Albanian Church & museum. Tip: Buy a combo ticket and it allows access to Shah's Winter Palace too, but only 1 room has been restored there. No photos are allowed in either Palace. Winter Palace is 20 mins walk away down the main road in the Old Town - not easy to find but locals will help.
2. Cemetery and Memorial - we found this gem by chance - hardly mentioned anywhere. Beautiful & peaceful with wonderful views of mountains behind Sheki.
3. The Caravanserai - it's had a lot of restoration work done to it but it's still worth walking around.
4. Walk around the old town's cobbled streets - it's not dazzling but gives an idea of how life goes on in the old part of Sheki.
5. If time, explore the 'newer' part of Sheki - interesting contrast with the old part. If you have a car, take a drive - the scenery around Sheki is stunning in parts.
Good place to eat - the Sheki Palace Restaurant - great Azeri food at good prices - seating inside & outside. Illy Expresso Cafe on the main through road is a cool place to relax for a hot drink - they let you bring in Sheki baclava from next door to enjoy with your drink.

It'll need only a couple of days maximum to experience the town. The summer palace and its environs (town walls, Albanian church, etc) are a must. The winter palace is a little hard to find but a willing local helped us to find it - only one room so far has been restored to the glory of the summer palace which may explain why we had it to ourselves. The cemetery and memorial site is very moving and peaceful and we were surprised it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere as a place to visit - it has a wonderful view of the mountain backdrop to the town. Wandering the old town centre is interesting too but doesn't take long. The Sheki Palace Hotel restaurant prepares great local dishes at good prices. Sheki is a nice place to hang out and chill and soak up its quite unique atmosphere.
Ilham's place is clean, comfortable and central to the historical centre. He and his wife are super helpful and friendly people who are always willing to give advice and answer any questions you may have. The kitchen has everything you need if you like to cook and the rooms are large with comfortable beds. Central, but tucked away into a spot which makes it calm, peaceful and quiet at night. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting to Sheki. Thank you immensely, we will remember you all fondly.
The location is very close to the new town center and about 15 minute walk to the old town center. Restaurants, supermarkets, banks are all very close to the hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is homemade and very good. You can buy fruit jam from them if you like it. Just ask the staff.
The hotel is very clean and quiet. The only problem is the basin in the toilet. It's too small that water splashes around. Consiering it is a renovated old house, I have to say they've done a really good job.
It exceeded our expectations. Wonderful breakfast. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are clean and they provide you with everything and more. Very comfortable beds. The location is awesome. We liked our view from balcony, it was the view to the village (front side of the hotel). They organized amazing set of activities. Our kids were happy there. At evenings we enjoyed the live music. The pool was clean and warm enough. We will definitely visit this place again.
I'd say Ruh Achari is the best option in Sheki if you're looking for peace and warm Sheki vibe. It's around 200 years old building with newly restored facilities where you'll see art and azerbaijani spirit all around which author is Mrs. Arzu, the owner. Surrounded by the Caucasus mountains and located 960m above sea level in Kish village, you'll feel the fresh air and taste local cuisine.
Thanks to Arzu that made our stay better than we expected.
Very good staff, especially the guest relations team member Aychl, she was extremely professional and polite. The hotel has many activities to do, some free some paid. I enjoyed the turkish Hamam. The rates are very reasonable.
Breakfast was awesome. The view is spectacular. For sure I am going to recommend this resort to family and friends.
The hotel is beautiful. Love the classic setting and ambiance. The breakfast area is beautiful too. Varieties of choices for breakfast. We had lots of choices for dinner too. Prices of items for dinner were very reasonable. Within walking distance to many tourist sites. Would definitely stay in the hotel again when we visit Sheki.
Amazing people, Mrs Nezaket and Mr Afgan are the best hosts you can find. They help you with anything you need, they have the best local tips, and the information they give is always reliable. If you’re looking for an alternative to a hotel experience and engage with local people and culture, you cannot find a better place in Şeki :)
Azeri hospitality at its very best, warm, cosy and welcoming, I could have easily stayed for weeks just soaking up the magical atmosphere of Sheki and the kindness of its people. Lovely guest house, so clean, quiet, relaxed and right in the heart of historical Sheki. I really felt like home, a big Teşekkürler to Asim, the owner 🙏
Excellent and well maintained heritage property. Three big bedrooms, two bathrooms, one powder room and one large living room and one fully loaded kitchen. Heating was adequate. The host greeted us for check in and helped us with keys, wifi etc. You'd really enjoy staying here while exploring Sheki. Ideal for large groups`
We spent 2 nights in Ilgar’s guesthouse.
Our stay was agreeable:
Room was big with private bathroom and the guesthouse was 5 minutes walking from the city centre of old Sheki.
Ilgar prepared breakfast with homemade gem and fresh products.
I recommend it ! 😊
The location was excellent. very close to the sheki city center and also walkable distance to the main historical sites. The staff was very kind and respectful. The room was bigger than usual hotels. The Breakfast in the hotel was good.
The location of this hotel in the mountains is the best to relax and unwind, it has great views to offer
The staff, especially the Manager Shabuhi, are friendly too.
Their restaurant has good food and drinks at economical prices.
We feel like staying at home: comfortable, quite location, nice food, rest area and wonderful owner. The village is very nice and 'authentic', with good views on a valley and in 10min drive from the center of Sheki
Walking distance from old town and Sheki khans palace. Good rooms with city view. Neat clean and very good staff. Good variety at breakfast. Heated swimming pool. All in all a very good hotel to stay in Sheki.
Nice location in a historic town. Nice ambience outside from when the hotel was in its prime. Cheap place to stay with very nice staff. Restaurant catered for my dietary needs.
