The views were very nice. Lots of space for kids to play. The lake and surrounding mountains are very beautiful. Good parking space. We reached late so the check in was closed but there were appropriate instructions to get into our room.

we enjoyed the location, the little and charming bungallows, the rich breakfast and the outstanding multilingual staff. Additionally, the activities to do are numerous (biking, hiking, kayaking...) if you would like to avoid the touristy Hallstadt. You can go by bike anywhere, even to hallsdtatt.
We drove from Vienna to the localtion of the hotel. however, you can also arrive to hallstadt by train and then rent a bike to the place; or travel to town of Obertraun (Obertraun train station is 20 min walk from the hotel).
The staff will recommend (and make the bookings fro you) at many great and good quality restauratnts.

We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but found as our trip got closer that there was a lot more to do in Obertraun and Halstatt than originally thought so our one night stay turned out to not be long enough. If I were booking again I would definitely stay two or three nights so we could explore the salt mines, walks and view points.

We stayed in Obertraum so we could take the ferry to go to Hallstatt by ferry. The ferry ride was amazing, heavenly peace and tranquil. However, we did not know enough about the area. If you miss some kitchen gadgets you can just ask at the reception and they will provide you for free - e.g. there was no knife and chopping board in our kitchen but they gave us this after we have asked for it. For coffee lovers - if you want to make coffee in your appartment, there is a coffee machine for nespresso capsules, so it is good to bring some with you as there are no capsules provided from the accommodation.
