The plum sake, the warm futon bed futon and the long conversation by the wood-stove were amazing and warmed up both my body and my soul after a long day of winter sightseeing. The oto-san kindly saw me off to the station when the buses had stopped and the oka-san explained me one of their family sake recipes. Will absolutely come here again in summer.

The only downside from our experience was that we only booked for one night. I wish we could have stayed longer. The ambiance of the place was simply astonishing. At night the stars are visible. In the morning, you have a perfect view of the mountains. The facilities inside are clean and modern, despite the traditional look of the house. Yuki-san and Honda-san were extremely kind and accommodating. They made us feel right at home. Our check-out time was a bit earlier than the earliest train, so they let us hang out with their dogs and horses in the farm. They even volunteered to pick us up and drop us off at the station! The place was definitely a pleasant surprise and a hidden gem.

The host Taku is very helpful and nice, he recommend and reserve restaurants for us every night and they were all very delicious. One night we had sauna and hot tub under the sky full of stars, this is one experience I will never forget. The house itself is clean and cozy, with a very beautifully decorated yard. We will definitely come back again! Thank you!

Homemade bread and jam was a real treat. We feel we had authentic Japanese food made with care and respect. The breakfast Naoko prepared was like a fine dining experience. The photos of Naoko's home do not do justice to the real life experience. Her home is comfortable, clean and has a beautiful outlook.

We reached late and the host prepared everything and leave the cottage open and heated the place to make it warm and nice!! Will sure stay here again!

JR Biei Station is a 3-minute drive from the property. lovely little place with a fantastic owner. everything was super clean and ordered and the lady who ran it was charming. Very anxious to make sure that everything was good for us. It’s shared bathroom but there are two on different floors and not that many rooms so it was not an issue. The house is on the outskirts of town surrounded by countryside and very peaceful. We very much enjoyed staying here.

Yoko and her husband were the perfect hosts and invested a lot of their time making sure we had a brilliant stay in Rusutsu. We share many a laugh together and they made sure we enjoyed our time there to the full! A fantastic experience with every day starting with a delicious cooked breakfast, tea and coffee. If it was cold outside, everyone morning when we left we felt warm on the inside thanks to our hosts making sure we were ready for the active day ahead. Lovely experience; we will be going back!
