Tarn Hows was close by and simply quintessentially English countryside at its best! What truly set this B&B apart was the genuine care and hospitality of the hosts. Ees Wyke Country House is an elegant Georgian property in the Lake District, less than 3 miles from the town of Hawkshead. Breakfast was excellent. We loved having afternoon tea and scones in the drawing room, and a refreshing cider served while we read. Books about Beatrix Potter and a sunny window seat to snuggle up and read were very much appreciated.

I booked it last minute as I got a late start to my drive up north and didn’t get as far as I was hoping, but my stay here was a pleasant surprise and I’m so glad I got to stop here. Incredibly clean, comfortable, with clear thought put into providing anything a guest might want. Breakfast was delicious, and the view out the window while eating provided a great start to the morning. I would gladly go out of my way to stay here again.

Overlooking Lake Windermere, Lindeth Fell offers impressive views and free parking, just 5 minutes from Windermere Ferry Crossing. Warm, cozy, homely atmosphere. Very courteous staff, good food, beautiful rooms. Fabulous surroundings and view of lake Windermere.
