Set in West Dean and only 12 km from Eastbourne Pier, Saltmarsh Farmhouse offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. We had a truly wonderful time at Saltmarsh, everything was perfect for us and they even arranged glorious sunshine in October! The accommodation is first class and we love the little snug where you can relax after a day's walking along the Cuckmere River, beach, cliff tops and forest. Fabulous.

Everything was excellent and the innkeeper was extremely helpful and definitely went out of her way to make things perfect.

In 150 acres of gardens, park and woodland, PowderMills is a Grade II listed 18th-century country house hotel with an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi, near the historical town of Battle. Beautiful place with walks beside the lake and loads of wildlife. Peacocks walk around lording it over the numerous ducks. We have stayed often as we initially used it due to it being dog friendly but even after our dogs died we still go there for the lovely views from the rooms (especially 32) and the restaurant is reliably good. Friendly and helpful staff.

Large outdoor terrace with tables for afternoon tea/drinks. Large indoor guest lounge space. Daily papers available. Lots of free parking on-site. Lots of nice walking from hotel. Close to Birling Gap and Seven Sisters.
