In a peaceful, secluded valley on the outskirts of Ilfracombe and convenient for Woolacombe, this splendid 18th-century country house is surrounded by gardens, woodland and streams. We arrived early after notifying the hotel we were travelling for a wedding and needed somewhere to change beforehand. Both rooms were ready, much to our delight. The breakfast in the morning was superb, freshly cooked and well presented. The rooms were quiet and spacious.

This Grade II* listed property offers a separate self-catering one-bedroom cottage within the 16th Century thatched farmstead. We didn't have breakfast. Everything was fine. Host was very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.
