Our flight was delayed so we arrived after the restaurant closed. The owner and his wife made us welcome, even though they had closed for the night. They very kindly opened a bottle of wine and made us a wonderful dinner. Throughout the stay their hospitality was amazing. The owner would not let us walk to the bus stop, instead he very kindly drove us all the way to Sidmouth in his own car! They really could not have done more for us!

The property is located in a picture perfect valley and has more than enough parking to accommodate guests.

I was intrigued by the host's description of their property beforehand and was not disappointed upon arrival. The house and gardens are a delight and steeped in history and we were made welcome to explore by Nigel, our very genial host and his lovely family. Breakfast was good and plentiful and attention to detail was shown regarding our specific requests which were well met. The bedroom was spacious, with a large and very comfortable and a good bathroom off with large walk-in shower. We enjoyed dinner at a very nice restaurant in Tiverton called Frou Frou and nearby the next day, we enjoyed a visit to Knightshayes with the aid of directions from Nigel. The property offers a tranquil respite from the usual hustle and bustle of town life and must be an ideal setting for the yoga retreats held there. It would have been nice to have explored the gardens further and dip into more of the many books on display, had our stay extended beyond the one night of our booking. Maybe we'll be able to visit again.
