Good location for hiking. The surroundings are nice and quiet. The building itself is old but the room is stylish and large. Comfortable bed. Clean, well-equipped kitchen. Breakfast wasn't to our liking, but you can visit a local shop and buy things for sandwiches. The steep stairs were a challenge, so older people or people with mobility issues should think about another place. Like another reviewer, we think the driveway to the parking is narrow but your car is in a safe place behind the house.

The hosts were friendly and available for all of our enquiries and even facilitated an early check in so we could start our holiday off as soon as we arrived in Windermere! The location is perfect and in walking distance of both bowness and Windermere, whilst still being peaceful and quiet at night, it is spotlessly clean and has everything you need!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the hotel is very clean and our room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast is included and is excellent as well as complimentary cake. As the hotel is set back from the main road it is very quiet and peaceful and great to get away and relax. Very pleased with our stay.

Windermere and Bowness towns are very busy with people, so being easy walking distance from both but down a very peaceful and quiet side street is perfect. We were in the top room, which is huge and very comfortable. Much more modern and luxury than the pics online show. Loved it and amazing value
