Cooking facilities were also available but we didn't use them. Very quiet stay and easy to find, helpful and friendly host.

It is something completely different and we really enjoyed learning about the history of this place and of Durham city ! breakfast was scrumptious and beds were super duper comfortable. There was a pub just 10 mins away from this place and they made the most delicious food for us!

We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, including the eggs (thank you!), the comfortable beds (not soft), as well as plenty of games and local information. Vickie the host was very responsive and helpful. Brookside Byre is located in a peaceful setting with wonderful views of the surrounding farmland, and with walks directly from the cottage. It was an excellent base for both Durham City and the countryside. I'm sure we'll be back again.
