Cedar Inn & Suites, hotel in Tahoma

Situated at the California-Nevada border, this Lake Tahoe hotel is a 5-minute walk from Harvey’s Casino and Edgewood Golf Course. Spacious guest rooms offer free WiFi.

The location itself is not exactly picturesque, but the "inn" is very close to Lake Tahoe, so it depends on what you are looking for! The room is equipped with a small microwave and a coffee machine - both were clean (surprisingly considering the room itself!).

Desolation Hotel, hotel in Tahoma

Set in South Lake Tahoe, 700 metres from Lakeside Beach, Desolation Hotel offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.

My wife and I stayed at Desolation hotel for 2 weeks. From the warm welcome on arrival to the wonderful facilities this boutique hotel is perfect. It is conveniently situated a 5 or so minute walk from the main ski gondola at Heavenly and a very short walking distance to the village and lake. There is lots of parking for guests and we used it as a base to ski Kirkwood, Northstar and Palisades. After a day skiing the pool, hot tub fire pits and private sauna were wonderful. Our room had a very boutique high end 5 star feel and facilities like the gym are nicely equipped with Peleton bikes. The in house restaurant Maggies is the best restaurant we visited in 3 weeks in California. We will definitely be back ! Sent from my iPhone

Love the ambiance of the area & the cabins!

Love the ambiance of the area & the cabins! Staff was informative, pleasant and helpful. We were given a coupon for the Sunnyside Restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed. Bear activity in the area was an exciting thought but unfortunately we saw none!

Location was great but be prepared to drive 1 or more miles to eat. Close proximity to Chambers Landing. Food and drinks there are excellent. Recommend a reservation. The climate in August was not what I was expecting, a chilly 37 degrees in the AM and only got up to 60 degrees during the day. Was expecting it to be in the high 70's/low 80's. excellent scenery anywhere you look. Pleasant driving.

Tahoma is a beautiful place lots to do and see will go back but be careful where you stay.we were taken advantage of. The place was terrible nothing cosey about it and very expensive. I've seen better furniture on the side of the road no rest at all as the beds were a nighttime. It looked like the carpet was something someone through away. Nails and screws were sticking up out of the floor do disregard the please remove your shoes sign. The photos are very deceiving.
