Typical Fairbanks hotel - nothing special. It is downtown, which is nice. It is at the center of town and within walking distance of the Chena River, the visitor center, and a variety of shops and restaurants, so that was nice.

Fairbanks is a great place to see the Northern Lights.
Fairbanks is a great place to see the Northern Lights. We went on February 29 for five nights and saw the Aurora four of the five nights. I even saw it the first night from our Lodging at Pikes Waterfront Lodging. You can even rent clothing from Alaska Elements that will keep you warm in 40 below weather. I'm a sunny California girl and have never been in weather below 20 and I was toasty warm in the gear they supplied. It was so convenient. They dropped the clothes at our hotel and picked them up at the end. They cost less than if we had bought the necessary shoes alone. It included the parka, mittens , bib pants, and snow shoes. So don't let the weather discourage you from going. It was a once in a lifetime experience I am so glad I did. I went with two girlfriends and we are all over 65 and had the best time ever. I recommend staying at Pikes Waterfront Lodge. You can book evening tours that takes you to special places to see the Aurora that include a nice warm place to view them from as well as being able to go out on decks to view them. The clothes will keep you warm. I laid in the snow for an hour viewing the the Northern Lights and was as warm as could be. Also my iPhone 15 took great pictures. If doing a dog sled ride is on your bucket list, Rod's Alaska guide tour is great. Again, the gear will keep you warm. Also another fun thing to do is Running Reindeer Ranch which lets you walk through a forest interacting with 13 reindeer that let you pet them and walk around you. It is an unreal experience. You should do both activities. If you go in March, you can also see the World Championship Ice Sculptures. And they are "out of this world". Have fun-I hope I had encouraged many people to have these lifetime experiences.

Great friendly town with polite helpful people and loads of interest for tourists. We found it's also got a great bus service - the locals don't use it because they have cars, but we used it because there were no hire cars available - book ahead.

Fairbanks has lots of winter activities to enjoy if you tent...
Fairbanks has lots of winter activities to enjoy if you tent a car like dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice sculptures at the Fairgrounds. The North Pole is only a 20 minute drive from Fairbanks and Chena Hot Springs an hour drive. The roads are maintained and the people are friendly. There are many delicious restaurants. We especially liked The Cookie Jar for breakfast. We enjoyed the University of Fairbanks Museum and the Aurora Borealis movie in the museum. We liked seeing the Alaska Pipeline off the highway and made a couple of stops to read about it. Definitely visit the Aurora Ice Museum in Chena Hot Springs. It is a fun experience and there is a free tour of the resort’s self sustainable power plant and green houses where they grow their own fresh vegetables. There are several Northern Light viewing areas near Fairbanks (Cleary Summit, Murthy’s Dome and Chena Hot Springs). To view the Northern Lights we suggest booking a tour to be with knowledgeable guides if it’s your first time. Also, rental cars are not allowed to drive to the Arctic Circle, so it’s best to book a tour if you plan to go there. The weather is very chilly, but it’s worth bundling up in layers to enjoy all Fairbanks has to offer. We definitely want to return to Fairbanks in the very near future during the months of February or March.

The breakfast was essentially the same.
Scrambled eggs, that were usually cold although placed on a warmer, potatoes, and saug/bacon. Oatmeal. Poor overall appearance for cost.
The shower had hair long obvious strand.
The toilet seats were stained or just old.
The fitness room, 3 machines for entire hotel.
The clerks unable to answer basic questions and/or unable explain charges at checkout

Fairbanks is little more than a large, run down Alaskan village. Summer visits are best because of the increased activities available for visitors. Unless there is a specific reason to visit in winter, ie viewing the Northern Lights, there are other, much more desirable places to go.
Breakfast is excellent! Location is a little far from town, so I have to pay extra for cab. And the road condition in winter is not so good for self driving. However, river front is a big con for the location tho. The whole facility is very pretty, and totally worth of money. Compare to the regular hotels in town, Pike's is really close to nature. And isn't that what we go to Alaska for?
For the price this was a great place. The location was away from the road, and a short walk to the Chena River (and the beavers!) and Pioneer Park (open during the summer months). The breakfast had good selection. The hotel was also located well between the airport and downtown, and easy to reach a multitude of destinations. The bed was nice and comfortable.
Room was clean, bed comfortable, and included mini fridge and Keurig Coffee maker with pods. Location in Downtown Fairbanks a plus, easy access to all restaurants, museums, and short drives to watch the Northern Lights. We booked the stay to extend our time in Alaska after our cruisetour. This was an affordable option over the local hotels in Fairbanks.
The free breakfast they provided was exceptional. Many choices and a lot of comfortable seating areas. The views outstide the windows were a big bonus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can request a walkup call if the northern lights appear. Very helpful, since the lights can show up anytime between 11PM to 2AM.
The hotel was really nice, nothing fancy but great for a few days stay and compared to other places I stayed in Alaska with a pretty good price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was in packages due to covid but it was actually quite enough - muffin, fruit, yogurt, snack and juice. It's very close to Pioneer Park.
A decent good place.
Great location
The best possible near restaurants bars and a nice downtown
Efficient Staff
I don't understand why how places like B&B Brennan's in Fairbanks, a place where the owner knocks and screams at the bedroom door at 2 a.m .,has a better ranking
The rooms are huge! They are like 1-bedroom apartments with a kitchen, living room, and dining space. The location is nice and set back from the road, so it's very quiet. It is well-landscaped and feels more inviting than a standard hotel. The location is very safe too.
The owner sent me to a different location she owns, this second location is really bad, plus, you need to walk almost 500 meters for breakfast.
She is a smiling crook.
I insisted and she brought me back to the original hotel which you reserved for me.
Very convenient to the airport and walking distance to Fred Meyer. Quick drive into downtown Fairbanks. Room was small but tidy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The takeaway continental breakfast had a lot of variety which we appreciated.
They provide a great shuttle service to and from the airport.
The take-away breakfast food is very good.
Convenient location if you need to be by the airport.
Also airconditioning was a plus as it was very warm while we were in Fairbanks.
Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed freshly baked afternoon cookies. Pick up from and drop off at the airport was superb. Since we missed Northern lights this time owing to clouds, we will visit again and stay at your hotel.
I would say that I really like the location, it is just about 5 min in car from the Fairbanks Airport, the services and Breakfast was good . It has a great location that you can do many things around it.
The breakfast and coffee were very much appreciated. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. the view from our room in the morning of the Alaska range was impressive.
It was cozy and clean. Good location. The owner Billie is kind and helpful. It’s perfect for solo travelers in Alaska. My room had its own kitchen and bathroom.
Good accomodation for a rather low price compared to other hotels in Fairbanks. Nice staff. Shared kitchen, everything at hand to make yourself a breakfast.
