Clean. We had a room away from the road and it was quiet. It is fine for a night. Fine for the price in America (expensive for what you get but fair for California).

When I visit my daughter and grandson in Santa Barbara, I like to have my privacy so I stay here. The dog and i can walk to the beach boardwalk in 20 minutes. There's the tasty burger shack where we share! There are bathrooms. On the way to the beach you will find restaurants and shops. The old doggie is in a nice-sized stroller, so we can bring back goodies.
Right next door to the Motel 6 on Carpenteria Street is a grocery store, dollar-type store, and Goodwill too!
Have fun!

We have stayed for years on Thanksgiving.
We have stayed for years on Thanksgiving. We love the hotel, but this year I asked for a disabled room and although the shower tub was much lower my husband still had a hard time. We needed a roll in shower.

Like I said in the past I love carpenteria Carpenter is great only thing I can't stand about motel 6 over here south, they allow the sheriffs to just drive up in the parking lot and that's against the constitutional rights of the hotel and it's guests (Private Property).. sheriff should not be on the property unless called not driving through the lot looking at people's cars and stuff that's that's against the constitutional rights.. but other than that the carpenter with South motel 6 is my store that's why I like to go, should have more American maids and all that I understand the Mexican thing and all but a lot of them don't understand English man tell me I should I should understand Spanish no no this is America you should understand English 99% of the guests understand English...

A good suburb of Santa Barbara with good restaurants, beach and grocery shops. A 10-15 minute drive on motorway to Santa Barbara where there is good parking options in the back streets - mostly 90 mins. We managed free parking all day by moving to different areas for our site seeing. Cost if accommodation better value than Santa Barbara but you will need to drive that is the compromise. We ate at the Italian and the Thai restaurant, both were excellent.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Carpenteria! Beautiful little beach town.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Carpenteria! Beautiful little beach town. Good restaurants. Perfect beach and places to walk/hike. We could walk everywhere (beach, restaurants, stores) in town. The fact it’s a short drive to Santa Barbara and Ventura is a bonus. Did not want to leave at all. As a family we agreed we want to make it an annual trip. Carpenteria was exactly what we needed.
The view & location are among the best you can get on the CA coast. All rooms have a view of the ocean. There is a nice pool surrounded by lawn & plenty of lounge chairs just feet away from the waves. There are tables/chairs for restaurant dining or to have your own picnic. Buffet breakfast is nothing special but enjoying it outside by the ocean is wonderful. It's an easy walk to 2 small low tide beaches & the bike trail runs right by hotel. The staff is very nice.
Excellent location, close to Santa Barbara. We visited the local beach hich was a 10 minute
walk away and were able to see the seals.
We loved this hotel , it was family friendly, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Great breakfast which was included in the price.
The hotel was nice, clean plus they are updating the walls and carpets. Our room was a nice size and the second room was only a couple of doors down. Staff were helpful and the gym had everything I would need. We were able to walk to the a great restaurant.
The value is awesome. The rooms were nice. Beds and bathroom was clean. The location for all my stats is perfect. All in all nice convenient place to stay. This is not a $400-$500 per night hotel, but you get more than what you pay for.
In general the hotel has an excellent cleanliness, the room was well organized. It is about 15 minutes from the beach walking The room was spacious and with all the amanties in good condition. Cleaning staff was friendly.
Beautiful courtyard garden lit up with lovely colours at night. Some rooms had patio doors opening onto this area. Easy access into hotel through side door from the car park to the lift with luggage.
I had dinner at the restaurant wich was very good.
Very nice hotel, amazing views and perfect location (we where heading south to San Diego so we had a on night stop in this place and loved it).
The restaurant at the hotel is superlative. The pool is nice, always clean and the water temperature is perfect. The view is the Pacific ocean - cant get a better view in the world in my opinion.
I lost my card and Staff was atroustrios absolutely the worst experience I've had anywhere. With all the proof I had to physically fight for my room. Worst hotel ever DO NO NOT STAY HERE SORRY
