We visited the Ostrich Farm ($7 entrance, $1 to feed them), they have a nice gift shop too. AJ's is a nice restaurant for a large portions, down home cooked meal. For quilters, there is a fun quilt store that I enjoy when in Buellton. It's just minutes from Solvang where there is nice shopping, and great pastries, and the Elverhøj Museum of History & Art that is interesting. Of course, there are many places to try wines.

Buellton is the perfect place to explore the San Ynez Valley. Incredibly, there are several towns, just a few minutes apart, with distinctly different vibes. There are dozens of wineries just minutes apart. I wish I had time to name each town, the restaurants, wineries and experiences I had in a too short amount of time, but trust me! I wish I’d stayed longer .

Buellton tends to be overlooked for Solvang but Solvang hotel prices are vastly higher and is only about a 10-minute drive from Buellton. You've still got easy access to restaurants in both Buellton and Solvang, the shops in Solvang, and gas stations + a major grocery store in Buellton. Why pay higher prices for Solvang when you can stay at nice places in Buellton?

There's not a ton to do within Bueltton itself but it's a great central point to stay so you can take day trips to other nearby spots. There are plenty of tasty restaurants plus a couple of markets so food options even for finicky eaters or those with allergies can still find something. If anything, avoid the middle to end of summer: too freaking hot and too many tourists.
Food options within Buellton that I've personally eaten at, recommend, and have online menus to check out before you go: Pea Soup Andersons, Ellen's Pancake House, Eddie's Grill, & Rudy's Mexican Restaurant (all within a 2-minute radius off the 101 highway).

The room was large with a small refrigerator and microwave and a small coffee maker.
When arriving to the room the air conditioner was not working. Problem was quickly solved, after we called the desk. :) This hotel has no elevators so if you have trouble taking a suitcase up approximately 15 or more steps you should be aware of this.
The sliding door in our room opened and you had a view of the pool. You could hear people enjoying the pool. We did leave the door open (it had a screen (hole in it) but kept it open because of the nice breeze and it got quite cool out.
I cannot comment on the breakfast because we left early. The breakfast was served at the Gazebo by the pool outside.
The airstream was adorable and it was great having access to a gas grill with sink for cooking. The resort has a lot of amenities (we didn't use any of them, but my parents did and enjoyed the hot tub and pool). The bed was comfy and overall it was a great stay for us and our pup. The value for the area was excellent, this is close to the highway right near downtown Buellton.
We really liked where the hotel was situated, not too far from restuarents and vineyards. We received two complimentary vouchers for 5 people for a nearby vineyard where we tasted the wine for free and that was thr highlight experience. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Also breakfast was nice they served us with donuts and coffee is free at the lobby.
Overall, the room was great - and I have been to many hotels worldwide - but what really impressed me the most was the bed size and cleanliness. Most hotels have terrible top blankets, but here even the top blanket was comfortable. The breakfast was also very decent, and that's not common in hotels nowadays. So I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Good location, lots of nearby restaurants and shops, ample parking. Very friendly and helpful staff on 24 hour reception desk - I was given some good recommendations for nearby wineries to visit, where to have dinner and they kindly rang my next hotel for me as I was having issues contacting them.
It was a one day stay for us during Route 1 trip from SF to SD.
+ Hotel reception was available 24 hours and send information e-mails to clarify the stay
+ Free breakfast bring to room.
+ well designed room with comfortable beds
+ Helpful staff
+ Close to Solvang to see around
This hotel is close to the freeway but was still quiet and safe. Lovely and clean grounds and rooms. The hot tub and fire pit were nice and we enjoyed sitting in the outside area in the evening. It is an easy 3 mile drive to Solvang.
The hotel is right next to the busy highway, i heard passing cars' noises all night. The room is very dark. For this price, I expected something special, but this could have been Motel 6, and you wouldn't know
This was a great hotel close to Solvang and surrounding areas. It was clean and new. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pits at night! It also had an excellent hot breakfast with a good variety of foods to chose from.
Nice location in Buellton and great accommodations for those who do not have an RV - the Surf Cabin is very comfortable and cozy- the large pass through window from Kitchen to front porch a bonus!
Hotel is just 3 miles from solvang downtown. Reception staff was very good and helpful. They also provide afternoon coffee and cookies which is appreciated. Their breakfast was very good.
It’s a nice hotel to stay at if you want to visit Solvang. The rooms are nice and spacious. Also really liked how all the rooms surround the pool, so you can just go outside and hang out.
Very nice property and loved the quality and choices for breakfast there. Two nice fire pits in the rear outside of the hotel and lots of seating. very clean looking.
