The location of the hotel is great (the road to get there is a different matter and is nothing the hotel can influence). The receptionist was lovely but overall I have to say the staff was not very friendly or helpful. The room size was good and we had a little balcony facing the lake. It was great to get a free kayak for one hour as part of the stay.

The hotel has a very nice atmosphere, and the staff went out of their way to help us with a tour on Good Friday (a day when everything’s closed), which was the highlight of my trip, so thank you!! Very helpful and friendly. Location’s perfect, could not have been better. Bed was very comfortable and was lucky enough to share the dorm with only 1 other person which was lovely. The fan works perfect. Free water (and coffee) all day. Totally recommend!!

What a lovely hostel!!!!
The people are so friendly and the food is great.
I had a private room and loved how it clean it was (finally a room WITHOUT cockroaches) and a hot shower.
Hammocks, a small pool, roof terrace, makes you want to hang out all day and have some chill time.
I do want to mention that if you walk the wrong way there are a lot of drunks trying to get your attention. So just keep the direction of the cathedral 😊
It was nice to meet other travellers and take a trip to the volcano together.
100% recommend Casa Verde.

Great cosy family run hostel, which felt like home. Great facilities, hot water, fans and 2 cute cats and a dog. Lovely free coffee in the morning and a really relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend it when visiting Santa Ana :)

You see a lot of crap online of wether or not Santa Ana is safeS we had zero problems and never felt unsafe at all. Santa Ana and El Salvador in general have made huge inprovements in safety these last years. The town is nice , you'll strugle to find a building with more than 2 stories. It has preserved it's old world charm. Not supermany things to do or see but a good base to go exploring from

The road especially the side streets are horrible.
The road especially the side streets are horrible. Needs a traffic officer in all the main road that are under construction even at night. I closed my eyes hoping that my husband won’t hit a vehicle as he drove on tight traffic areas. I’m worried that our rental car won’t break down on the unpaved roads- lots of rocks and open pits.
The Santa Ana people are very helpful and kind.

I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral.
I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral. As an amateur photographer, I also liked the colorful and dilapidated buildings around the cathedral. They made a great backdrop for street photography. Unfortunately, I spent only a day here so I was not able to see or do many things in the area. It is a great location to jump off the Ruta de las Flores though. I’m definitely happy that I decided to start the route here and not from San Salvador.

Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains.
Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains. The market is fun to explore and cathedral and theatre are gorgeous. Outside of town there are ruins, volcanoes, and a lake within an hour. The town doesn't have much tourism which gives it a more authentic feel, but also means you won't find many good restaurants around the square or at night.
It is a 2-floor house with 3 bedrooms and amazing shared facilities such as a fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms, and free (!) laundry and drying machine.
The owner is super friendly, responsive, and helpful. We talked a lot, not only about El Salvador, but he also gave us nice tips about the city. Also, he speaks fluent Spanish and English!
The place was very comfortable and would be a great base for a longer stay in the region. It is located in a very calm and peaceful neighborhood, just like the whole of Santa Ana.
This was our best stay in El Salvador and probably in all Central America. The owner Amy is extremely nice and helpful, she speaks very good English. The house is really clean all the time. The location of the house is very central and safe. Perfect wi-fi signal all over the house if you want to use the internet. They are also providing a delicious breakfast with coffee. They have a pretty nice balcony and common areas if you want to hangout. Incredibly good price for money.
Luis is a very nice, generous man who represents Santa Ana well. He has many tips and transportation options - ask him anything. They also offer optional laundry services and breakfast. We loved the pancakes and refillable water jug. AC may be available for an extra cost. Good spot to use as home base for 2-3 days in Santa Ana whether you are a backpacker dorm type or a quiet young couple.
everything. it’s the best price for Santa Ana and the host is super helpful. he cared about us and showed us around, playing pool and go to local bars. it’s situated in a nice and safe area where everybody says hi when you walk the streets, close to nice restaurants and only a short walk to the cathedral. I highly recommend staying here! high value for little money
Hotel Brunette offers a great location. Just a few blocks away from the historic downtown, it's a great spot to start off an earlier trip of Santa Ana in which you will enjoy all this town has to offer.
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, you can never go wrong with "típico".
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the price is unbeatable.
Lovely and helpful staff and owner. We arrived early for check-in and could wait with a nice cup of coffee. They then got our room ready as quickly as possible. Breakfast was really tasty, too. Definitely recommend staying here when visiting Santa Ana! We used it as our base for day trips (e.g. Ruta de las Flores)
My family and I loved this place. The staff is super friendly and approachable, they are waiting for you with a great smile. Which is something Salvadoran people are known for. The rooms were clean, and big as expected I would not say this is a hostel, it has everything of a hotel. We are excited to be back soon!
Casa Vieja really felt like home away from home. Luis and his family are amazing hosts!! Luis also gave us a lot of tips and info about Santa Ana volcano and lake Coatepeque. Any questions you have he’s the right person to ask too!
The room was very clean and comfortable…will definitely recommend it 100% 😌
This was the friendliest, coziest hostel we stayed at on our entire trip. The kitchen was great to have and there's a lot of little areas to relax in.
Adriana helped us every step of the way with planning our trips from Santa Ana. She made the hostel feel like a second home.
The hostel is in a great location in Santa Ana and there are two goats which is a unique experience. The people who were working at the hostel were very nice and informative about where we can go and what transportation we need to get to get to other areas in El Salvador.
* Nice courtyard and clean swimming pool
* rain shower in my dorm room with hot water
* fans and AC in the dorm
* excellent shared kitchen
* staff are really helpful
* rooftop terrace with a great view of Santa Ana and the surrounding mountains
Awesome view, and tasty food. Friendly staff and good drinks. Music is mostly chill. We had a friendly private driver whom really helped us get there from Santa Ana. Nice and honest person: +503 6304 9425 - Amilcar Salas. Nice, roomy, comfy car.
Centrally located in Santa Ana! Staff are great. There are motorbike and scooter rentals for a good value on site. Hostal has lots of communal areas to chill and a kitchen in a decent state. The hostal is overall good for the low price.
good location. short walk to the plaza and various bus stops for trips to volcan Santa ana and ruta Flores etc.
clean, good WiFi, fairly basic but clean and decent enough kitchen for use.
Great location, close to the square, about 1.5km from main bus stations. Really lovely, helpful staff. We'd recommend to anyone visiting santa ana. Comfortable room. It was ideal!
