This is my perfect hotel - it is small, centrally located with a friendly and helpful staff. Because it is in old building our room had character. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and with a comfortable bed, Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of choices. The cheese platter and sandwiches which we purchased for onward travel were generous and beautifully packed for us.
This hotel is a 5-minute walk from Östersund Central Station. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV, free movie channels and heated bathroom floors. Wi-Fi and parking are free.

Having stayed in the hotel 6 years previously when it was OK but nothing special, the transformation into its current studio / room format has been a success. Not a traditional hotel as there are no meals provided but a well equipped communal kitchen and a microwave / fridge in your room means that you can easily look after yourself. Bedding and towels were changed regularly. Its location is superb, right on the pedestrianised shopping street which did not get noisy, even at night and there are supermarkets nearby to help you self-cater. It was incredibly good value - less than £50 per night for a single room - compared to other bed and breakfast prices in regular hotels.
The place was well looked after and the room was spotless when I arrived. A laundry room with an iron etc was an added bonus.
Initial access to the hotel when unstaffed was by way of codes provided and then a simple plastic card controlled your access after that.
Set a 5-minute walk from Östersund Central Station, Hotell Östersund offers free WiFi, free parking and rooms with a flat-screen satellite TV. Prästgatan pedestrian street is a 1-minute walk away.

I went away for a nice quiet trip for my birthday and to escape the chaos of London and that’s what I got. Östersund is a beautiful and quiet place to stay. I will definitely be coming back, I can’t wait to try the Swedish summer. Wayne’s coffee shop was n enjoyable place to stop and have some lunch.

Fantastic hotel in an old theater. Location - amazing - located in a city center next to the bus stations, 500 m down the hill to the train station, an old theater felling - amazing. Worth to mention is a smart way of serving the breakfast in the box if you leave earlier - you fill questionnaire a day before with your preferences helping to not waste food you don't need. Comparing to other hotels we visited - a very good internet connection.
Absolutely in the best place in the centre of the city. one of the best out- and indoor spa I’ve ever seen in Sweden with a very good assortment of beverages. super nice to have a beer in the outside pool at -10. Great breakfast with a lot of different choices. Staff running the hotel are really welcoming in a relaxed way. I can only say that the whole experience in the hotel was much better than we had asked for
I arrived very early (7am) but Maria gave me a door code to enter so I could drop off my bags and then texted me as soon as my room was ready (around midday, well before the official check-in time). Hotel is more of a Bed & Breakfast but it's in a beautful house, with lovely furniture right in the centre of Ostersund on a quiet pedestrianized street. It's only 10 minutes walk from the railway station.
The hotel was somewhat old, but it was functional, and the room was good, large (with an extra sofa bed), a good bathroom, a good bed. The breakfast was very good. The place is located right off the highway, close to a mini-mall.
It was convenient for a stop like ours, though a bit far from the center (we didn't go there, since it was very cold
outside). There was free parking outside.
Location was great. Just downtown of Ostersund. Close to the bust stop bound to the airport and also to some spots like restaurants, etc. Crew was absolutely amazing - talkative, suggestive about things to do. Also breakfast: so rich, delicious and full of options. We didn't expected so delicious breakfast after get very tiny room. It was much better than in some branded hotels.
Evening meal was a bonus.
Location was very good for the city.
Breakfast was very good for a "continental" style.
Tea and coffee facilities were appreciated, not always common in Scandinavia.
Staff went that extra mile to make for a pleasant stay.
Large spacious room. Comfortable bed. Basin and hairdryer in room. Plenty of hanging space and hooks.
Excellent breakfast included and served across the street in the hotel dining room.
Nice small hotel with friendly staff and good location in the city center. We really enjoyed our room which was quite big. The breakfast offered a large variety and was nice!
