Very cool to stay the night in a castle this old, staff were very friendly and helpful. Alvito is a very small community and is very quiet. It was nice to experience this little community and get off the main tourist path for a while.

What a wonderful place to completely disconnect! From the house to the pool, everything was so clean and well maintained that you can clearly see the love and care Sandra and Kurt put in this place. It was one of the most peaceful places I've ever been, and I'm already planning on going back.
There was everything in the house, pans, towels, even a portable AC (which wasn't needed at all). Breakfast was full and had everything you needed and more, bacon, eggs, milk, bread, ham, jams, etc.
The surrounding area was so quiet you could only hear the birds and the sheep that they have at the property (the cutest things) and Akita (the owners' dog) would make a very welcoming appearance once in a while too.
There's nothing bad to say about Horta da Rosa. Congratulations to Sandra and Kurt for creating such an incredible place to be!

Vila Alva is small village in the Alentejo region with a really nice dynamic and there is actually an active population living there, working there (unlike many other rural places in Portugal almost empty of population).
