Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful. Although the front desk was a bit of a walk from our room, it gave us time to experience the most beautiful views. The breakfast had good options.
Set in the Nærøy Valley, this camping is surrounded by high mountains with a view of the Kjelfossen Waterfall. It offers an on-site kiosk and cottages with a patio and kitchen facilities.
Located in Gudvangen, Gudvangen Budget Hotel has a garden. Featuring a shared lounge, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The accommodations features free WiFi.

The hotel is amazing! The facilities are great: nice towel and linen, amazing food from the restaurant, and the astonishing view of the fjords. But the best part of the hotel was the people, they were super friendly, nice and made us feel super comfortable.
Overlooking the Nærøy Valley, this family-run hotel offers 2 in-house resraurants and a panorama lounge. Gudvangen village and the Nærøy Fjord are 15 minutes’ drive away. WiFi is free in public areas....

Just a 5 minute walk from our dock for the next day’s ferry. Comfortable corner room with two decks for great views of the water and mountains. Staff was wonderful. Room was sparkling clean.

We had a wonderful stay in Myrkdalen Resort Hotel. Nice and big room with a view and nice staff. Great location for exploring. Would definitely stay here again if we come back.

A spectatular setting where you can just relax and soak up the magnificent scenery. Fire pits to keep you warm while you sit outside (with a drink). The staff were extremely friendly. Right next to jetty where you can pick up the fabulous, all electric, boat to Flam (which is also just a 15 minute car journey away). The Viking Village is a 3 minute walk away and well worth visiting - something we nearly dismissed but really pleased we didn't! Menu a little limited for those staying more than a few day but the food we did order was excellent. A unique and wonderful end to our dream holiday!

Nicely renovated comfortable no frills hotel in a quiet location, out of season. A shuttle bus or ferry made the journey into Flam easy.
The breakfast was buffet style, good choice of mixed cold meats and cheeses. The evening meals were disappointing, and expensive as you expect in Norway. Having said that if you are only staying a couple of days a good stop over hotel.

Location was the most + point of our stay.
Location was the most + point of our stay. Fjord was just a stones throw away. Other points and places were a drive distance and flam was reachable both via ferry and shuttle.
Food for vegetarians is a little problematic in hotel as the buffet served has less options for veggies. There is Shell fuel pump and Xtra store that has some quick foods.

Gudvangen offers a ton of scenery and not much else.
Gudvangen offers a ton of scenery and not much else. Our overnight stay was more than enough time to enjoy a dinner at the only place in town, a brief hike to the WWII bunkers the following morning and time at the Njardarheimr Viking Village for a few hours until our bus left for Voss in the afternoon. Everything is within walking distance.

We enjoyed the Viking Village at Gudvangen, and the view of the mountains and waterfalls was superb. We were able to purchase food items at the nearby Joker gas station, which was well-stocked with ready made/easily prepared foods. We didn't get to do the kayaking available there, but that would have added a bonus. A very nice town!
We only saw the Budget Hotel from the outside but it it gave us some uncertain vibes, we just did not feel quite comfortable. The house of the Budget Hotel looks a little abondoned and old-fashioned.
Thankfully we got an Upgrade on the Wiking rooms of the Fjordtell Reservation and Hotel Center instead of Gudvangen Budget Hotel, which is why our stay was beyond comfortable. The bad was unbelievably cozy, the skyview from the windows above was calming and a fresh turn for us. We are again very thankful for that experience.
Gudvangen Fjordtell is right on the fjord, with incredible views all around. We stayed in a family apartment just down the street (not in the main building) that had plenty of room for a family of four. The seafood restaurant on the property was very good. Gudvangen is tiny - there's the Fjordtell, some camping grounds, the boat dock, a gas station with a small food market (Joker), and the Viking Village. There's a little more going on in Flaam, but we enjoyed staying in the quiet of Gudvangen.
Location, location, location. Fantastic views on the mountains with views on 5+ waterfall’s and more if it has been raining, the camping grounds are spacious with a lot of grass, playing fields and the site is near the ferry to Kaupanger and the Flåm-railway. Very nice staff and a little cafe with a camp fire for guests.
Facilities were excellent and clean. The chalet has a covered porch for dining al fresco.
Everything was excellent. Staff was very nice and friendly.
Room was clean and warm (you can adjust temperature on a heater).
We stayed at Viking Room - it's exact as on pictures - all is made from wood with big warm fur on a bed.
Breakfasts were not super various, but tasty and you can cook waffles yourself.
But the best is location!!!! Views are awesome and no people crowds as in Flam
The bathroom was spacious and functional. The room had two twin beds pushed together (not ideal for a married couple, but not uncommon in accommodations in Norway). The bedding was crisp and clean, and sheets and towels were changed once during our stay. The breakfast was good, and the hotel is right beside the harbor with the ferry to Flam.
Location was amazing, breakfast was great, cleanliness was high & views were spectacular (from the hotel grounds, not the room specifically). We also enjoyed being close to the viking village, pizza shop was great, and seafood shop was delicious. We enjoyed the firepits that were lit on the patio at night. The vibe of the room was fun too.
The location of this hotel is excellent. We used car to reach it, I don't know is it possible to reach it by bus. The dinner was great. You need to pay fix price and eat how much you want. Sea food was great.
There are windows in the roof in each room, so you can see mouths in the morning from your bed.
Could not ask for better from a budget hotel.
This is a simple hotel in an idyllic setting. The surroundings are awe inspiring and its hard not to have a mountain view.
The beds were so comfortable and everything was clean. The rooms were an excellent size. It was nice and relaxing place to stay.
I can't speak exactly for the budget hotel facilities because we were upgraded for free to the fjordhotell down the street (same owner). It was so nice, the room had a sky light you could see stars at night, from bed. All of the staff were so incredibly kind and the view all around were stunning!
The hotel is amazing! The facilities are great: nice towel and linen, amazing food from the restaurant, and the astonishing view of the fjords. But the best part of the hotel was the people, they were super friendly, nice and made us feel super comfortable.
This hotel is located in a place that feels like heaven! Gudvangen is a beautiful village and this hotel made our stay even better. The room itself was perfect, the view from our room was breathtaking. Will definitely come again!!!
What an amazing hotel! There has been so much thought, love, and care put into this place. The most unique hotel I've ever been to, with some of the most gorgeous views in the world! And the Viking Valley is an absolute must-see!
The Viking rooms were spacious with a wonderful view of the hills through the skylight. The breakfast was quite good. The staff worked very hard - acting as both servers and hotel receptionists.
Unbeatable location right at the naeroyfjord; walkable to the viking valley and 20-30m car ride to flam. Much less touristy than staying in flam. Seafood terrace restaurant was delicious!
The view is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is cozy, clean and new. The price is reasonable. The supermarket and gas station is nearby. Highly recommend.
