Tequila is an historic place. A small little town with a big name and a big history.
Downtown is always busy and parking is scarce. Lots of "promotors" for tours and parking garages make you feel a bit like you're in a tourist trap. But if you hold on and try to make it on your own, you'll be able to find decent parking without paying premiums or "special fees".
I loved the Tequila museum and the quaint cobbled stone streets. Not enough parking spaces for day trippers like me.

The Jose Cuervo Promenade and the town plaza was alive with music, vendors and was clean and beautiful. There are many museums dedicated to the history of the town and the drink. We went during the week so it was lively but not overly loud, not sure how it is on weekends. Great tour at Jose Cuervo and the opportunity to see other distilleries like Sauza. Tequila is definitely worth the trip.

Loved the variety of food and tequila tasting.
Loved the variety of food and tequila tasting. Visiting Tequila and taking a guided tour was a learning experience about the city and process of making tequila. It was fun and relaxing to sit at the plaza and people watch, while enjoying a Cantarito. Also, discovered a stand next to the church where they make an amazing dessert called Marquesitas, a fabulous taste, the original is with Nutella and queso de bola….. sweet and salty 😋

nice small town with good eats and drinks; especially comparing prices to the USA. If not a Tequila drinker, probably 3 days/ two-nights would be enough. Felt safe walking the streets at night.

Very interesting Pueblo Magico and much more to explore than just the Tequila Distilleries. However, I highly recommend a distillery tour or two as I learned a lot about the whole process from seeding the Agave plants through bottling the tequila. It is really worth a tour! Loved the museum and Cultural Center, too. Walking is easy and to me, preferable for the whole of centro, as you can see and explore more that way. La Antigua Casona was our best dining experience (food and service both top notch). El Palomar Cafe (on the main square) and Cafe Azulado were my favorites for breakfast/brunch. La Fonda Cholula (traditional Mexican) and Real Marinera (lots of seafood dishes) were both great for more casual dinner meals.

The town is very festive on the weekends with families out enjoying the plaza with tequila, food, and craft vendors. The people are very friendly.
We heard a lot of fireworks going off and was told that for a donation the church will set off fireworks to celebrate a birthday.
This a newly opened hotel with modern finishes. It was clean and comfortable and did the job for a 2 night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. While the hotel is located about 10 minutes from the downtown main street, the price more than made up for it. The wifi was working and reliable the entire time I was there. The courtyard was attractive, and has the potential to evolve into a more relaxing space.
Amazing location. Our room had a wonderful view. The air conditioning was a welcome relief from the triple digit temperatures. The staff was welcoming and we enjoyed the rooftop bar. Hotel occupancy seemed low during our stay so it seemed like we had an entire wing to ourselves. We loved sitting on the patio during the evenings when things cooled off.
The room was elegant and the bathroom luxurious. The layout of the hotel with open air hallways around a pool with additional pool area is beautiful. Air conditioning and private and secure covered parking was a real bonus. The staff was very friendly especially Manuel at the front desk. Great restaurant right across the street.
It's a small, clean hotel with a friendly staff and the basic necessities: a small room with a little bathroom, airconditioning, wifi and free water and coffee. I liked the open closet space where you can put all your stuff! Perfect for one or two nights to visit Tequila, because everything is within walking distance.
Stayed at the hotel one night as we stopped in Tequila to visit the tequila distilleries. Hotel is centrally located, very close to everything. Walking distance to distilleries and restaurants. Only thing to be aware of is that the parking lot opens at 7pm, so if you are trying to get an early start be aware.
This is a lovely hotel…new. It is well located to walk to everything in Tequila.
I loved that the very comfortable, large king beds had wonderful all cotton sheets! And the bathroom had washcloths!
The staff were very accommodating and let us park our car right in front .
Location is great. Staff is friendly and hotel is nice. However, rooms are small and bathroom looked a little old. In general a good place to stay if location is one of the most important attributes you are looking for.
extremely friendly staff. the entire hotel is pristine. the rooftop breakfast view was wonderful and the good was delicious. a very short walk to downtown. very quiet at night
The only thing I liked about this hotel was the location, it was central to the main part of the city. Restaurants, stores, plaza and church were in walking distance.
