The restaurant food and staff were the best! The young lady at the reception is very professional and helpful as was the early morning manager (Thursday 5/2).
We came to hike around Tafraout and this place was a great place to do that from - close to the trails, close to the souq, close to transport.
The town market or souq should be visited - there are a number of stores that sell local spices and delicacies, like honey from the TIKIW cactus and AMLOU. Clothing offerings differ as well. And the town is the cleanest I have seen in all of Morocco...add an extra star for that.
Auberge Kasbah Chez Amaliya features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Tafraout. There's a restaurant serving Moroccan cuisine, and free private parking is available.

Always a pleasure to stay here. Lovely common areas, including roof terraces with views of the surrounding mountains as well as a cozy courtyard with a fireplace. Rooms are modes in size but clean and comfortable and each has a balcony. Staff are always amiable and helpful.

We ate at the restaurant La Kasbah which was wonderful and very good value. There are hikes, bouldering, climbing, and cycling opportunities all around. There is a wonderful shop run by Ali with all kinds of natural products - we bought Amlou, Argan oil (edible) and three different types of honey (cactus, carob, orange)

Tafraoute and surroundings are a blisful world away from Marrakech hustle. I'm hesitant to be too openly positive about this place, as I'd like it to remain somewhat off the beaten track. Tafraoute is a must-go if you want to experience true hospitality in a mind-boggling mountain backdrop. Don't go if you're in a rush. You'll want to stay.
The location is splendid with a view of the Amelne valley from the terrace and the surrounding pisé houses.
Neighbour is the real Maison Traditionelle, from which the hotel has taken the name (same owners). The Maison Traditionelle is a an ethnographic museum showing traditional kitchen utensils, earthenware, carpets, fabrics, clothes.
The hotel is 6 km from Tafraoute which is known for production of babouches and the starting point for reaching the beautiful Aït Mansour valley where palm trees are forming a canopy above your head.
Very good location. Lovely rooftop terrace we hung out there a lot and the hotel owner let us use the kitchen which had a hob and fridge which was super helpful. Rooms are very nice. Has a proper shower, hot during the day and early evening, cold later at night. We stayed longer than we expected and the hotel owner on our last day even offered to take us to see some of the local sights (for free ofc!)
The terrace on the roof is amazing, we also had a fully equipped kitchen so we could make tea, the bathroom was appropriate, the beds were comfortable. The view from our room was also picturesque. The host, Jamal was born for this job, he knows everything there is to know about Tafraout amd the surrounding area. He’s very helpful with every issue you may have.
We had a lovely stay in Tigmi Ozro, Bouchra was so welcoming we felt immediately at home. The room was spacious and comfortable and the views from the top terrace stunning. Well located in Tafraoute we could hike from our door into the hills and walk to the restaurants in the evening. Thank you Bouchra for a memorable stay we would love to return one day.
The service was impeccable and room was welcoming. The bed was comfortable; sheets and blankets were a nice quality. The hotel is very well built and I did swim but water is a bit cool as it is November now but still had a few nice reading sessions and a drink while lazing in the sun on the poolside loungers. It is close to a historic village.
Wonderful to return here and find it lovely as ever. Nice laid-back atmosphere, friendly staff, beautiful views, delicious breakfasts. We like the location 4 km outside of Tafraout, easy access with a car, but walkable without luggage. The facilities are very pleasant, with the pool, outdoor seating areas and a courtyard garden. We’ll be back!
The hospitality of the team was great and welcoming, the facilities were clean and useful, in addition the location is very special, they have a view that is projected on the whole city of TAFRAOUTE and very calm. On the other hand they serve great breakfast and coffee ☕️
Everything was pretty much spectacular. The property, the host’s hospitality and attention, the food - I could not have wished for a better hotel experience - especially in a faraway place like Tafraoute.
Thank you Jean, we’ll come stay with you again very soon.
We loved our stay here. There are many hotels in Tafraout but this is a proper family run place, authentic Berber hospitality. Loved having breakfast on the balcony, watching the to and fro of the main street below. This trip will stay in my heart.
Beautiful calm hotel run by a nice family. Close (a 5-10 minutes walk ) to the center of Tafraoute but in a calm area. Appreciate the incredible landscapes of the region from here. The stay here was very restful and ressourcing...
The pool was very dense and clean, the rooms were spotless and very charming and comforting, the food was delicious, didn’t any issues with our reservation, the breakfast was so traditional and tasty
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant connected to the hotel is good, with a great, friendly and helpful waiter called Mohammed Charlo.
