The evening meal we had was superb, the best pork I have ever eaten
Trento is a town defined by its closeness to the Dolomites, bordered by the vineyards along the banks of the Adige River, and signposted by castles that once defended the road leading towards the Alpine passes of Brenner and Reschen. Though that gives some hints, it doesn’t unveil the rich mix of Alpine, Germanic and Mediterranean cultures that represent the cornerstone of its identity.
It is believed that it was founded as ‘Trent’ by Gauls in the 4th century BC, becoming ‘Tridentum’ under Roman rule. After the fall of the empire and centuries of dispute, the region knew prosperity under the rule of several Prince-Bishops, and was later integrated to the Austrian South Tyrol, until its final incorporation to the Kingdom of Italy after World War I. It boasts nowadays one of the highest qualities of life in Italy, while the University of Trento ranks among the country’s best.
The city’s historic centre shows the typical cultural pattern that characterises the area. Buonconsiglio Castle overlooks the city from the top of a rock, while the cathedral and Piazza Duomo shouldn’t be missed. In the Old Town's narrow streets you’ll find some of the most picturesque hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in Trento.

A lovely small city with attractive buildings, various museums and churches, good cafes and restaurants and interesting shops. Having passed the city many times on the rail route from Munich to Bologna, we’re glad to have finally broken the journey there.

We just love these "small big cities" across Europe.
We just love these "small big cities" across Europe. They have their own identity. Still, Trento is the epitome of what you would expect of any Italian town. Cozy streets, atmospheric squares, impressive architecture, great bars and restaurants and good shopping. And with surroundings like the southern Alps - the Dolomites - what is not to like?

Trento is a fantastic old historical city, full of monuments, pleasant small restaurants, and coffee bars. Besides that, Trento has very good museums. But, surrounding rivers, brooks, lakes, waterfalls, and gorgeous mountains are an added value for the Trentino region, including the Lago di Garda with charming cities alongside the lake. The visit to Trento during the summertime is some kind of refreshing escape from the hot Mediterranean summer temperatures.

The person who owns Clesio 2 cant possibly have a rating of 7.9 on Booking.com when he doesnt answer his text messages or his phone. What is wrong is he fixing the answers with fake people. Trento was destoyed by this person. I wanted to enjoy my time in this town and all I did was stand around waiting for a person to answer my calls. Clesio 2 made my time in Trento the worst experience I have ever had in a town.
Poor Trento, I feel sorry for anyone who encounters this person.
I didnt get to see any of Trento because of this person. It made me very sad.

Extremely disappointed with their lack of reactivity:
Extremely disappointed with their lack of reactivity:
Firstly, I explained our stay depended on secure storage for our bicycles. They recommended secure public storage which was user-UNfriendly to set up online. Our ETA was after nightfall and we did not want to arrive without acceptable safe storage set up.
Trento offered no credible help despite my repeated request for help.
Secondly, due to high winds our ferry arrived late in Livorno and we informed Trento we would not be able to arrive before the Trento airbnb arrival curfew. Trento‘s reply came hours later - too late for us to continue our journey and arrive there post- curfew.
if you traveling to trento, you must choose this place. location is 3 min walk from station and 5 min to center, host is super kind and personally deals with you, room facilities (from toothbrush to shower gel to lotion to fridge, locker, steam room, extra pillow, clean super room with breakfast, green tea and other things... also refund option and paying upon arrival, all of above is hard to find at one place. i travel alot across italy and this was the best place i ever been to.
Very good location if you come by car. Good parking possibilities and good connection to reach the center of Trento by bus. You can eat all your meals easily at the hotel's restaurant, good authentic food for a good price.
It's a bit old, but I enjoyed the 70es Charme, better than the usual IKEA future that is the same all over the world. You really feel like you have entered Italy, and that's what you want starting your vacation, right? :-)
We have been at the Hotel for a second time, and everything has been exceptional each time. Very friendly personal, always available for help and support. The villa has a romantique atmosphere surrounded by green valley. The hotel offers delicious breakfast, swimming pool and spa. There is attention in everything. One of the best stay for us, when traveling as a family.
We will come back there every time we travel in the North Italy.
Beautiful large, semi-round room (room 7) in the heart of Trento, in a pedestrian area. Very tastefully decorated with good antiques. Great shower, excellent bed, double glazing. Excellent Wifi. Parking in a public parking garage within 50-75 meters of the hotel. A great place for a stop-over, but after walking through the beautiful historic center of Trento, we realised that we have to come back for a longer stay.
Central location in pedestrian zone with views of mountains and piazza. Quiet with good curtains so I slept well. Friendly modern bar on first floor. Large room with very comfortable bed and Illy espresso maker and various tisanes. Large shower, spotless bathroom. Unique venue as hotel is within an old turret that was part of the defensive wall. Staff was very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel was an inspired choice for my birthday weekend. The setting on a hill overlooking Trento is beautiful. A crown of mountains surrounds the spot and vineyards crowd the hillsides below. Our room was large and quiet with a skylight and view over the countryside. The lovely historic building, well-appointed facilities, and great restaurant made us feel relaxed and pampered.
Guilia met us outside and checked us in at the office. She was very friendly and kindly walked us to our apartment to let us in and give us the key. The location was excellent for walking around interesting sights in Trento and to the many restaurants. There was a parking garage nearby which made it easy to take luggage back and forth.
Excellent location in the heart of Trento old town. Elisa and Carlo were wonderful hosts— we enjoyed talking with them as well as meeting other guests during breakfast. The room was spacious and clean! Location is an easy walk to many restaurants and a lively Piazza Duomo di Trento.
Unlike other hostels, each (6-bed) dorm had its own bathroom, which was nice. Moreover, all people working there were quite friendly and, most importantly, could communicate in English - which is not always the case in Italy. Also, the breakfast was quite good.
Very close to the train station, a traditional hotel with good public spaces and comfortable fittings. An easy walk into the centre of Trento, where there are numerous cafes and restaurants. Good breakfast, buffet well supervised and dishes refilled promptly.
Lovely decor, large, clean and bright room with touches worthy of a 4 star hotel. Right in the heart of the city, with a view over the mountains, castles… best value hotel in Trento. Oh and super friendly staff!
Nice and spacious modern apartment, great location. Unfortunately we just stayed for one night during a trip back from Southern Italy. This place makes you want to stay longer :)
