The owners were a lovely old couple. Very friendly and helpful and could only speak Italian. They enjoyed the challenge of communicating with us. The room was basic but excellent value for money. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the position of the studio was excellent quite close to free parking.

Such a beautiful place. It felt like each time I went for a walk I would find a new little street filled with plants and flowers. Very relaxing in the evenings with lovely wine and Bruscetta. We also found a Couple of places with craft beer.

Spello is a gorgeous Umbrian hill village.
Spello is a gorgeous Umbrian hill village. The population is 8300 pax, it's very quiet and calm, a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Rome and Tuscany. The food is similar to Tuscan (truffles, porchetta, lenticche, cinghiale, etc...). Just overall a very lovely village, with winding little alleys and flowers and art galleries, shops everywhere in the historic center. You will find many Northern Italians visiting on weekends...a spattering of Americans and other nationalities. A week is good amount of time to explore the village and allows times for day trips to Assisi or

Take a train to Foligno and then a taxi to Spello - you won't need a car once you're in town. Easily worth a 3 days visit to unplug and relax - Spello is an absolutely charming town. 2 beautiful churches and eat at Properzio and Pinturicchio. Don't forget to also take a hike outside of Spello through the olive groves along the Roman Acqueducts and up to the next town. Easy-moderate 3-4 hours and well marked - or just go halfway and then return. Enjoy!

The beauty of Spello and the surrounding area is breathtaking! You walk the pink stone lined streets and feel the ancient history. Enjoy a traditional meal on the piazza. Stay in a B&B in a seemingly remote area that is just minutes from town. The views of the hills covered with olive orchards are contrasting shades of luxurious greens.

Spello is a picturesque hilltop town with plenty of options for food, drink, shopping and strolling the ancient streets.
We spent a week+ here and wouldn't hesitate to come back.
A good central location to explore nearby towns including Montefalco, Bevagna, Assisi and Spoleto.
Beautiful location right on the edge of lovely Spello with marvellous views, but really it’s very very central in terms of wandering the historic centre. The pictures of the lovely breakfast deck are absolutely true. A delightfully cool spot to relax in the afternoon too. Staff were wonderful; everything very clean; breakfast was fantastic.
We wished we were staying more than 2 nights.
Parking is a few minutes away (and an uphill climb back to the hotel) unless you’re lucky enough to get a spot in their garage.
Francesco picked me up (AND dropped me off) at the station. The hospitality from him and his sister was absolutely amazing and their apartment is a wonderful centrally located space at the top of Spello. It's a 15 minute walk to and from the station, but they were kind enough to drive me to and from. The apartment is HUGE. Tons of space and had everything you could need for short term and long term stays. You absolutely should stay here if you come to Spello!
Lovely stay in an authentic apartment in the heart of Spello. The care and pride of ownership of the apartment was obvious. We enjoyed meeting the owners upon check in and hearing the history of the apartment and it's furnishings. There was lots of space in this 2 bedroom apartment. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything you need to cook a meal. We highly recommend staying here.
a super nice place to stay. 30 mins walk from spello train station. and 25 mins walk to spello. the walk is very enjoyable. bikes were available also for free. madame maria was super very welcoming and happy to assist on everything we demanded. welcoming atmosphere makes you feel at home. enjoy spello.unforgettable moments.something unique and different from other cities.
This is an amazing property loved by its owner - Nori. Nori and Caroline who assisted with check in / key handover were so very nice and kind. The property is well located and appointed, and you simply cannot go wrong staying here. The town of Spello is adorable, plenty of food options and close to so many other amazing little places to see. We could have stayed forever!
We had a an absolutely lovely stay. Cassandra was so helpful with recommending a lovely restaurant (best meal we had in our two weeks in Italy) and making us comfortable. The breakfast was amazing - we were spoiled for choice and everything is well-presented and delicious. You can not ask for a nicer view. I would highly recommend this lovely house in the mountain!
Absolutely beautiful ancient palace dating back originally to 1600s. Location in Spello the best for hotel stay as centre of small old city so easy walk everywhere, with relatively east slope up or down, never flat, rarely extreme. room large, right beside huge sitting area featured that has interested murals on walls & ceiling.
It is a fabulous small stone residence on the edge of Spello town with windows and balconies overlooking the valley. It had everything we needed including lovely old antique furniture and an authentic unique coffee maker with fresh coffee. Great little touches like a first aid kit and lemon juice for tea.
This property is really nice and spacious. It has big garden with swimming pool with direct view of magnificent town of Spello . You won’t get any better view than this . Highly recommend this if you want to have relaxed vacation and real experience of Italian country side - far away from rushed City life
A very quaint and quiet motel type stay with some genuine spa features, and a fabulous swimming pool in as Italian countryside setting. Our hostess Ms Azzurra was most accommodating and an absolute delight!
AND we were greeted by the hotel is mascot Romeo… Who was just purrrfect
Couldn't fault this beautiful, spacious apartment right in the main street of old Spello. Claudio picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. A kind, generous host who grew up in Spello and clearly loves to share his passion for the region.
The location of this hotel is great. Right on the halfway mark of the street that runs from top to bottom of the town. Close to great restaurants and sights. The best thing about the hotel itself was the breakfast which was first rate.
The building is spectactacular, expecially at night with the ceiling of lights on the courtyard.
Big comfy rooms more like apartments with charme.
Nice pool area and very kind staff.
5' drive to the lovely village of Spello.
La Bastiglia is beautifully located looking out over beautiful rolling hills. It is a little bit of a fading beauty but was fine for our stay in lovely Spello. Nice room, nice breakfast and very friendly staff.
this was a stunning property with lots of amenities. the location was in one of the prettiest streets in Spello. Guilia was very efficient with instructions on how to get into the property and local tips.
Gorgeous property and apartment. Beautiful views to wake up to. Delicious breakfast with homemade cakes and selection of cheeses etc. Very close to Spello and Assisi. Extra nice to have pool.
Very comfortable apartment. it feels like home. And a good location in Spello. Easy to walk everywhere. A beautiful town and very historic and photogenic.
