Very beautiful town a must see, however extemely high hills and steps, if you are not too fit it can be difficult to manage, there are other towns in cinque terre that are flatter and you can visit Riomaggiore for the day. There is basically one main street with shops and food area which are quite costly. As it is a small area it is very full of travellers so it can be a bit difficult to access some eateries and viewing areas.

    Riomaggiore is quintessential Cinque Terre.

Riomaggiore is quintessential Cinque Terre. It is rugged and beautiful. It is a colorful, bustling fishing village full of friendly people and yummy restaurants, bars, bakeries, little shops, art galleries, etc. And it wasn't as overrun as Vernazza. We stayed on the harbor which I highly recommend. We took a sunset cruise that left steps from our accommodations. After visiting all the towns, it was my favorite, by far.

Riomaggiore was a lovely village to stay in.

Riomaggiore was a lovely village to stay in. I am sure all the towns in Cinque Terre are lovely to stay in. One needs to be a bit in shape to do the hiking or even ride the trains but is an adventure not to be missed! The scenery is spectacular.

Wonderful historic town and the trek options between the towns are a treat. The train also makes it so easy to travel to all the towns. We also did a boat trip from Levanto to see Cinque Terra from the beautiful blue sea. Just lovely, a real highlight. There are also lots of choices of places to eat that seemed quite economical.

It’s hard to know which town to stay in, but we were not disappointed. I would definitely chose this town again to stay in Cinque Terra. Sunsets are the best. Atmosphere is fantastic. There is a great rocky beach to swim from, exploring water caves etc. Colours are sensational and great reasonable food choices. You can walk everywhere, but make sure you stay by the water!

The Cinque Terre is a must see place, you do need to have a good pair of legs as it is all about walking and some places a very steep. Riomaggiore is a beautiful place and although small is worth exploring. The best Troffie was served at the trattoria near the station as was all their food, homemade excellence. A train pass will take you to all the other towns very quickly.

Lovely clean and spacious apartment with an outside area to relax. Communication with host is excellent. A wonderfully informative booklet in the room with information about the area. Close to station which was a bonus. Cinque Terre is full of hills, so it was great getting back to the apartment at the end of the day and not have to walk up another one. The villages in the area are all beautiful but Riomaggiore was our favorite. Would love to return some day. Thank you Marco.

Veronica was an exceptional host. Communication with her way easy and she was very responsive! Plus, she makes the absolute BEST bruschetta! Our breakfast in the morning was the best of our whole trip through Italy. The location of the apartment is fantastic. The balcony view is the best. The hot tub was perfect after a day of walking up and down the hills in Cinque Terre. And I have to mention again what an amazing host Veronica is!

The most magical place! A quiet and peaceful spot away from the busy crowds, with the best views in Cinque Terre. The room was nothing spectacular however clean and replenished with new drinks and coffee pods every morning. Having a meal or a wine on the terrace was a highlight of our trip, it’s so beautiful. Warning: there are lots of stairs to walk up including the walk from the station, but worth it!

We had such a great stay. Martha was so welcoming and kind, she met us near the train station and took us to the property. She was easily contactable via WhatsApp throughout our stay and helped us by making a reservation for dinner on our first night. Very helpful and showed us a map of Cinque Terre and explained the best way to get around. The rooms are very private too.

Location was fantastic, just a short 1 minute walk to the dreamlike view of Riomaggiore! This was one of the best apartments we have stayed in Italy. The AC and water pressure was strong. The door lock was secure as well. Host was precise about the direction and location to the apartment. Able to see the sea from the balcony. Felt like an Italian!

With the apartment being directly on the main strip of Riomaggorie it definitely made it easy to get around and from town to town! It is about a 3-5 minute walk to the train station + the apartment itself was very spacious and comfortable for 2 couples to stay! Would recommend to anyone travelling to Cinque Terre and would stay again.

Right next to the ocean. Balcony and see sounds made this a great experience. Market down the road luckily was open for purchase of food, wine, and more. The hiking to Riomagiorre the next Cinque Terre village was steep and challenging but amazingly scenic. Recommend being in good shape if you go here without mass transit

This land or city is the best in my opinion. Location is the best. The facility feels and looks new. New as in updated. Our host Sara was excellent on taking care of us. I will not say anything bad about this fine facility. But, If anyone comes to the Cinque Terre You must love hiking and the stair master machine.
