Stayed for New year. In the middle of nowhere. Felt like we were on the moon. Geothermal pool and sauna were great. And northern lights bar very smart.

It’s a perfect base for exploring the golden circle and the south coast. There is only 4.3 mi to Hveragerdi and Selfoss, cities with a wide range of shops and restaurants.

What a wonderful stay! The apartments we had reserved had it all! A full blown kitchenette with everything you'd need (microwave, fridge, cups, pots, pans, stove, electric kettle, silverware...you name it, you got it here). And as a bonus, each apartment had its own charm, coziness and comfort. I honestly cannot find a single thing to really complain about. The location, proximity to bakeries, restaurants and other amenities in Hvergerdi can't be beat! Though we didn't get to use the hot tub or the steam room, they were certainly working and make up for a cute, romantic retreat - just far enough from all the noise and light from the cities, close enough to Reykjavik and Keflavik if you are just landing or flying out of Iceland.
Plus, with a highly responsive and accommodating staff (interacted only through booking.com) who were kind enough to upgrade my friends' room who were traveling with kids, all I can say is this boutique apartments certainly lived up to its high ratings. Hope they continue to be this awesome forever - we will certainly be back!

Everything you want and need from a getaway guesthouse/apartment, not too far from Reyjavik. Easy to access all the south coast stops without the hassle of the city traffic. The apartment was cozy and separate from their other units, which were also very nice, but this one was perfect for a couple. The hosts made every accommodation request we had and even let us use their vacuum for our airtight clothes bags! Very charming and overall what a great place to stay while visiting the Icelandic scenery.
Although we did not get to see the Northern Lights (which is why I booked this hotel), we very much enjoyed our stay! The scenery on the drive to the hotel is spectacular (if not a little scary if you're in wind/rain/snow), and the hotel is very, very cool! We enjoyed getting into the warm geothermal pool and sitting in the Northern Lights lounge after dinner. The food is fantastic and the staff was more hospitable than anywhere else we had experienced on our 10-day trip.
Absolute dreamy stay at the Ion adventure hotel. We only stayed one night and made good use of the spa and restaurant. This is the most relaxed I’ve been in a long time, with the cosy rooms, relaxed staff and stunning countryside views. Had a little walk around the area too and wish we’d stayed longer to make the most of the local hikes.
The heated outdoor pool and sauna. Sitting in the pool, you can still experience the nature surrounding the hotel. Sauna and relaxing room were nice. Food selection for breakfast was good. Honesty bar has insane architecture and must be great for watching aurora in Iceland. I ate the best lamb meat in the restaurant EVER!
Complete luxury. Sauna and pool are incredible, attention to detail is impeccable. Location is incomparable, we even got a beautiful snowfall! Do yourself a favor and visit the bartender for a Fury of Iceland and food recommendations for Reykjavik, you won't be disappointed!
It was very nice to be greeted with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. We liked how the room and shower was a good size and how there was a mini fridge in the room. Dinner was very good. The hotel was also a great location to be able to see the Northern Lights.
Building, rooms, lobby all very beautiful. Room was descent size, clean, & comfortable. Restaurant was very good. Bar gorgeous views. Hot pool very unique. Prosecco upon arrival- nice touch. Robes and slippers.
Beautiful hotel and room. The dinner at the hotel was excellent. The unique location and scenic surroundings of the hotel made it feel like total peace and seclusion yet only 30 minutes from Reykjavik.
We loved the restaurant, the food for lunch and dinner was super yummy. The pool and spa was great and the lounge room was so nice to relax and have a drink or two.
We love the dramatic location, the outdoor bathing and the sheer quiet comfort of the hotel. We stayed here 6 years ago and enjoyed it just as much the second time.
