Dundalk in County Louth, the wee county, provided an incredible outpouring of creativity to celebrate Brigid1500. The Northern Lights Light Show in Market Square, the murals and storefronts painted with signs of Spring and Brigid, the cultural production at An Tain Theatre and the County Museum.
We were there for 4 days and we made the Proper Cafe "our cafe". The staff were very welcoming and remembered us and the food was great!
We also took a bus to Carlingford and enjoyed a short hike and great views of Carlingford Lough. Also, the home of Thomas Darcy McGee, and Father of Canadian Confederation.

At St.
At St. Patrics Day there were no free hotel in good price in Dublin. This choice for accomodation was the best choice, only 1 hour from Dublin by train, and found a very nice pansion with polite people.

The Imperial Hotel is a lovely comfortable hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The location of the hotel is very central and the town centre and shopping are just a short stroll from the door. My husband enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the races in Ireland's only all weather racecourse, just a short Taxi ride away, while I browsed and shopped in the nearby Shopping Centre. We dined in the hotel, where the food was excellent. We had a lovely restful two day break, and we plan to return there in the future.

People were very friendly, a lot of greetings while out walking the street on a wet morning, likewise staff in shops all very welcoming, the town could do more to promote it's history and some beautiful surroundings within close proximity, unfortunately there are a lot of derelict or dilapidated buildings around the town. The town also could do with a better range of dining experiences The Spotted Dog was excellent but a few more restaurants at that end of the market would be very welcome.

Dundalk has lots of potential.
Dundalk has lots of potential. Nicely laid out town and looking very well Unfortunately the people of Dundalk don't know the meaning of good customer service, very cold and unwelcoming. We didn't meet a single friendly face in the bars or resteraunts, customer service was NIL!

We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel.
We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel. We drove to Newry and did some shopping. Then we went to stunning Carlingford for lunch and more shopping! Back to Blackrock in Dundalk for fish and chips from Roma on the promenade and ice cream at storm in a teacup. Dundalk has beautiful scenic drives and greenway walks and we loved exploring around it.
Upgraded to the Junior Suite on arrival, and it didn't disappoint. Spacious, comfortable, and everything you'd expect from a Crowne experience with a bed you don't want to leave. I even sang the lyrics from Raglan Road on the bedside picture, which impressed the Mrs, ... until she read them upon leaving 😅
Fabulous vista's from the 12th Floor overlooking Dundalk Bay and the Cooley Peninsula. The 13th Floor Restaurant has great views, too!
Delicious breakfast but didn't try the Tapas... definitely next time.
This was a perfect place to arrive to after traveling over seas and arriving in Ireland. The host was warm, inviting and accommodating. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable. I was able to get an amazing night’s sleep in the comfy bed. The accommodations were also peaceful and quiet as is the neighborhood it is tucked away in. Highly recommend the Krakow B & B!
This is an outstanding b&b. Very friendly hosts, who offered excellent food suggestions, and a considerate staff. The place is immaculately clean and a comfy place to relax after a day of travel. And the best breakfast in the morning. The best in Ireland, after three weeks of travel. They have operated this b&b for decades and the positives show.
The location was perfect but most of all the staff were fabulous so courteous, polite and friendly in every area of the hotel. The nicest staff I have every come across in a hotel. The room was very clean with the best shower I have had in a hotel. Also great we could have 3 adults in one room so my daughter didn’t have to be on her own.
Friendly welcome on arrival. Super clean, spacious and comfortable room. Lovely dinner in the restaurant. Best breakfast at any of the hotels we stayed in whilst touring Ireland. Special mention to the breakfast team who worked very hard, constant attention to filling up the buffet, clearing tables etc, well done!
Carrickdale Hotel and Spa is a beautiful hotel. The gardens are stunning and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. My friend and I got a massage at the Serenity Spa which was so relaxing. We also enjoyed two meals at the Secret Garden restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel and spa to others.
It was big enough to afford everyone in our group their own rooms and still be cost effective for us. The bathrooms were shared, but well-kept and stocked. It was a quiet area and we enjoyed a wonderfully restful night after a long couple of days of traveling.
Hotel grounds and hotel atmosphere were excellent , food was good and the majority of staff were pleasant and well trained. Nice walks within the hotel grounds especially the Dolman walk through the golf course.
The property was perfect for us as a first night, after a long day of traveling. Great stopping point after arriving in Dublin and heading north. Close to Blackrock beach area. The staff was wonderful.
Highly recommend. Great location. Very clean and comfy room. Common living room area was large and very comfortable. Lovely breakfast, cooked to order. Great wifi through out. Would stay again.
The breakfast was lovely. The room was ok, the house was lovely and full of curiosities. The owner and his daughter were pleasant and accommodating. Very close to Dundalk town centre.
Perfect location in the town centre. Large, bright, spacious loft space, open plan design. Clean and comfortable. Excellent communication with the host regarding parking and heating.
I stayed here actually to attend the RebelFest that was taking place on Sunday, the 5th of February. But, I must say, it was a lovely place and I would stay again if in the area.
Beautiful place. Exceptional staff. Comfortable room. Fairly well located for walking into downtown Dundalk. Convenient petrol station store across the street.
