Clayton Hotel Cork City, hotel in Blarney

Facing Cork City Hall, the Clayton Hotel Cork overlooks the River Lee. It offers beautifully designed air-conditioned rooms, a health and spa centre with pool, and a fine restaurant.

Extremely close to the centre of town, all the usual amenities you could want. Parking was in a public garage that has access directly into the hotel via a lift, so very convenient. The room was clean and good size.

Blarney is a wonderful little town.

Blarney is a wonderful little town. We enjoyed eating at Muskerry Arms Bar and Christy's Bar while we were there. Everything was walkable and felt very safe. We also bought a few items from Blarney Woolen Mills. This store offered the most Irish wool clothing of anywhere we saw throughout our tour of the country. We also visited Blarney Castle and grounds. The gardens around Blarney Castle are incredible. There is so much more to see here than we expected. Our trip was in March, so we needed to wear a light winter jacket, but that also meant there were no lines for kissing the stone and touring the castle.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. However, facilities were poor with no on-site restaurant after 4pm, reception area small, food only available in the pub next door. Fine for a business trip but not for a holiday, very basic.

It is a fab hotel but there is something going on with the lift. Every time we got into the lift there was a really bad smell. It smelt like sewage . When we were leaving that morning it was really bad. Other than that l had no complaints . Very happy.

    The hotel was lovely.

The hotel was lovely. I was there during a very warm spell so opened the window for air. Unfortunately since my room also overlooked the parking lot, there was noise and light pollution. This would not have been a problem though, but for the open windows.

Lots to see here in addition to the castle.

Lots to see here in addition to the castle. There was no wait line to see the stone and I still spent about two hours looking around the castle and grounds. Note there is a considerable climb up a tight, circular, old stone staircase to get to the stone! But you can see most of the castle without climbing.

The Blarney Castle is very pricey but the park is amazing. I wouldn't recommend going up the tower just to kiss the stone unless there is no queue. It's a good place to move to other small towns in the surroundings.

We stayed in the apartment which was perfect for us, 2 bedrooms, a small kitchen and bath. The owners stocked the kitchen with milk, juice, tea, coffee, yogurts etc for us and delivered warm croissants and cheese puff paste rows and bread in the morning. The accommodations were clean and comfortable after a long day of traveling and the next morning we were minutes from Blarney Castle. Excellent hosts!

Our stay was beyond our expectations. I think our favorite night of our entire vacation. The pub had delicious food and relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very attentive. Our rooms were very well appointed and spacious. The breakfast the next morning was delicious. We were able to walk over to Blarney Castle after breakfast. Plenty of parking also. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It is a beautiful Irish hotel one block away from Blarney Castle. The rooms are spotless, beautifully decorated, and really well cared for. The staff is top notch, super helpful, and the pub on the ground floor has excellent food, drinks and atmosphere! It is now our favorite hotel in Ireland!!! We are world travelers and fell good about the high praise we have for this hotel.

Siobhan was the perfect hostess, extremely helpful with regards to places to eat in the evening and genuinely interested in us and our trip. Will be back there again on our next trip to the area.

Blarney Castle Hotel is a truly wonderful place to stay. The location is so scenic and only 10 minutes on a bus from Cork City Centre. The staff are all really pleasant and the breakfast was extraodinary. Although it looks very old fashioned from the outside, our room was stunning and really modern. Cannot recommend enough

Book early. So the suite of 2 bedrooms came available unexpectadly, so we were lucky. Hotels in cork were 400 for 1 night for one bedroom and we got 2 with à kitchionette. The beds are comfy, it has its own door, parking and the host vicky leàves you alone. Its close to a garage wìth hot food which opens at 6am in blarnèy

The location was fantastic for its proximity to Blarney Castle and places to eat. We simply parked at the hotel and walked everywhere. We were grateful for a room fan as it was exceptionally warm on the second floor. There is a fitness room with a large variety of equipment.

Superb location with Blarney Castle not even 5 minutes from the B&B...such a tourist bustle here and a bus outside the front door into Cork city. Wonderful, friendly staff and the full Irish breakfast would feed a family which it did for three of us :)
