The apartment was very clean and spacious. Having a private parking garage is a huge benefit. Close to the main street, so it's very easy to walk. The building is very quiet.
Very friendly and polite people. Excellent street plan, wide boulevards with trees, several little museums and old mansions near the center of the city. Walking in the deserted byzantine city/fortress of Mystras, adjacent to the city, offers a unique experience. Sparta can serve as the base for exploring many interesting places in Laconia, including the town/fortress of Monemvasia (Gibraltar of Greece, 87 km) and the nice port of Gytheion (43 km),

Lovely little town with no shortage of cafes, bars, restaurants, and small businesses of all kinds. Super view of the mountains. Walking distance to everything including ancient ruins an the statue of King Léonidas, shirt drive or bike ride to Mystras (look it up!) and about 40 minutes to Gytheio/beaches. Don't forget the olive oil, figs, pomegranates, and oranges.

There's much more to see than expected, according to previous reviews. In common with the rest of Greece, the signage is poor: you have to be determined to find your way up to the acropolis, just imagine! A really good visit. An excellent day in Mystras, a place not to be hurried.

The must-see in Sparti is Mystras site: beautiful byzantine churches with magnificent frescos, an old castle on top of the hill and the palaces of glorious byzantine families (unfortunately those last ones not visitable at the time of our visit due to works). Mystras is 6 min drive from Sparti.
For the rest, the ancient agora is worth a visit (still under excavation), Leonidas statue, Leonidas tomb and the area around the Central Square, with a few nice restaurants and cafés.
The hidden gem in this city is the Olive and Olive Oil Museum - really worth visiting!

Sparti has a small city center and limited attractions and thus a limited nightlife. Sparti’s greatest attraction is that it is literally right next to the stunning physical landscape of the Taegetos mountain range. Unfortunately, this incredible landscape has not been developed. Sparti has a strong sports/athletics culture. I believe that it would greatly benefit the city’s tourism industry to market the Taegetos mountain range to Sports and outdoor enthusiasts. Exploring the Taegetos by a hiking foot path or by mountain bike would be an awesome experience for any traveller and it would greatly enhance the international image of the city as an athletic tourist attraction.

Besides being in a beautiful location (mountains on one side, hills and olive groves on the other), Sparta was a big enough town to have lots of restaurant options, but not so major that it was overrun with visitors. The Museum of the Olive & Olive Oil is really interesting and robust, and the archaeological museum & acropolis are definitely worth the visit. The archaeological museum is small, but has a really beautiful collection including many coins. The acropolis has a few buildings to look at (including a large ancient theater), but is especially worth the visit for the views at the top.
Sparta is a great location for day trips, but its a nice city to come back to because it's got a life of it's own separate from it's tourism. You definitely can drive around Sparta, but we walked everywhere (nothing was further than 20 minutes away) and saved driving for leaving the city. When I return to the Peloponnesian Peninsula, I would stay in Sparta again as a central location.
We booked for our stay less than an hour before arrival. Price/facilities unmatchable. Exceptionally welcome staff. Sparta is a small/walkable town so anywhere is a good location. Facilities include ac, hot water for shower, coffee machine, fridge, freezer, washing machine, toaster, griller, mixer and we had everything waiting for us to use them, like bottled water, marmalade, instant and grounded coffee, sugar etc. I would definitely choose this place again if available without looking anywhere else
Its a 5 star acco for a bakpackers price

Almost every thing you need is taken care off

Gina is a very friendly host. During my stay she checked that all was OK. The penthouse apartment is well located in a quiet area at the upper part of Sparti, but within 5 minutes walk of the centre. The balconies provide great views of Mt Taygetos. The apartment is very spacious and clean and has a wide range of facilities. Gina also provides some nice gratis foods for your arrival. There is air conditioning in every room. Overall, I was very impressed. I really enjoyed my stay.
This is basically the best place we've stayed at over our week in Greece. It's spacious, modern, and has everything you need, even if you plan on a longer stay. (For examole I mean even things like a washing machine, coffee maker or an ironing board). The view from the balcony is also exceptional and the owner is really helpful and kind. Couldn't recommend more.
The view was amazing and the location was perfect--it was on the edge of town so it wasn't too busy, but close enough to everything to walk (which we mostly did), although it was easy to park our car outside the building. The space was well-equipped with the essentials and Mike was a great host. When we return to Sparta, we would definitely stay here again.
A clean, comfortable and very well equipped apartment in a great location for exploring Sparti and Mystras. Communication with the host was excellent. Indeed, our host was marvellous, met us at the bus station and took us to the property. She went out of her way to welcome us , help us get around and generally make our stay a great one.
George, the owner, is incredible. He doesn’t just rent his rooms: he makes you live a beautiful experience by explaining to you something about Spartan history, making you try local specialities and, most important, making you feeling home.
If you want good memories, this is your place and he is your man. Trust me.
It was large and spacious, very clean and had everything you needed for a family stay. Location is great, very near ancient Sparta and Leonidas statue. Host is amazingly sweet, gave us advice on places to visit and treated us to Greek honey donuts, olives, and coffee in the morning.
Perfect location, you can walk around the city centre. The hostess was very helpful and she gave us proposals for places in the city of Sparti and othe places around as Gytheion. The house was very clean with fresh and fluffy towels and bedsheets.
The host is super kind and the apartment itself was very comfortable. Anything I wanted is there. The location is just in front of the bus station, so if you use the bus here is one of most desirable apartment s in Sparti.
This was more than a hotel room. It was an apartment as advertised. It was convenient to shopping and restaurants. We felt very comfortable. The hostess Gina was wonderful. Visit The Sparta Gift Shop.
great base for our short stay in Sparta. the host was great with communication and self-check in was super easy. the apartment is renovated and very clean and comfortable
Right in the center of Sparta, close to all attractions of the area. Staff checked us in quickly to our room. The city center is right outside your hotel window.
