The house was very fine, delightfully quirky and full of character reflecting its long family associations and interests. My hosts were charming to the extent I felt very much at home. I left with reluctance!

I have been to Wick many times because there is plenty to see and do. This time we headed to John o Groats to the Puffin Croft Petting Farm which was such a joy.The lady who owns the farm is there to greet you and tell you about the goats, the sheep, the pigs, the donkeys, the rabbits and the Shetland pony - hope I haven't missed one! One place you must look for is the shortest street in the world which is in Wick.

Wick itself is a pretty but windswept and deeply depressed town. There is not a great deal to do in March - the walk to the castle was nice although I was almost blown off my feet. I had half a day there which was more than enough time to do everything that was open in the town. I plan to go back and explore the surrounding area over a couple of days,

Wick is an interesting old town in an interesting part of Scotland. There are many archaeological sites around worth seeing. The town has lovely places to eat, a super museum and places to walk or even swim in open water.

Wick itself looked rather shabby in places (probably looks better at high tide) and was very quiet when we were there. It is a good stop-off when moving up the coast between Inverness and John O'Groats with an interesting castle on the coast just north and other archeological sites close by. It has a good Tesco with reasonably priced fuel and we found a good pizza take-away in the town centre. The accommodation was good and as expected, but located in a deserted part of the town just back from the harbour. Ours was the only car parked on the road overnight but the area seemed very safe.

Wick is an awful run down town and the accommodation was a disgrace and certainly not as advertised and shall be requesting a refund for mis representation of property. This is not a hotel and certainly not an inn, just a room over a derelict shop

Fantastic location! Lydia directed us to Castle of old Wick which was beautiful and a great morning walk! The room was very comfortable, great en suite, everything was clean and neatly placed. Nice varied breakfast menu with great local touches. Delicious breakfasts with generous portions! Both Lydia and Graeme were very warm, welcoming and helpful (even with poor Graeme’s newly broken hand!) Very helpful welcome pack too which was a nice touch! We’ll definitely be back and recommending friends!

A team of 3 men just working in the area and came across this huge apartment. Property is modern and immaculately clean with no issues. I made an error with the booking and thought I was checking out on Monday morning, but instead I spoke to the owner and told him that I got it wrong and he said I can stay the night free of charge. Absolute gentleman and would recommend this place for anybody staying in or around Wick. Thank you

Pre-booked and pre-paid one nights stay for a work trip. Arrived at the property to find out someone else had checked in under our booking. Property very unhelpful in resolving this matter - threatening to call the police for fraud and then not responding to our messages. Property unable to confirm whether they’d asked for ID prior to this individual checking in and we were left stranded at midnight in the middle of Wick.

Stylish lodge in a stunning location. Ideal for exploring that corner of Scotland or as a stop on the NC500 or on the way to the Orkney ferries. Comfortable beds, great shower. The barbecue huts are a nice touch, although we didn't have time to take advantage of them. Great to have a self-catering option which allows you to stay for only one or two nights.

The Fisherman’s Cottage is a very spacious, well stocked apartment. It’s in a very quiet location and within walking distance to the city center. Wick turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our Scotland trip. It’s worth exploring on foot. There are numerous hidden trails and lots of eating spots. TFC is perfectly located to check it all out.

Everything about this stay was wonderful. It's an idea location for exploring this remote part of Scotland, the host Kacey was an absolute joy, and the room was very comfortable. Meals were great, too, and served in the room -- which felt like a total luxury!
